Luis arrived at the clubhouse ahead of time, his main goal being to corner Yana and make sure she wouldn't come up with any excuses to back out.
Unexpectedly, Maria's voice on WhatsApp sounded a bit shy as she said, "Mom and I are both at home waiting for you. Mom said we don't have any liquor here, so if you want to drink, you'll have to bring your own."
"Your mom went back that quickly?"
Luis was a bit skeptical. Under normal circumstances, once a holiday started, Yana spent all her free time playing cards. The afternoon session usually didn't break up until seven.
"Mom said someone else wanted to play, and since she'd already won enough for the meal, she let them have the spot."
"Oh, and Mom already bought the groceries. She said you just need to pick up some cold dishes and appetizers to go with the drinks, nothing too much."
"Great!"
Hearing this, Luis felt a surge of excitement. He quickly said goodbye to his sister-in-law and immediately took off.
