Chapter 11 - Ask for help

"Wow. You're rich now, you've married such a rich old man, and now you're here with a smug face." Dian scoffed.

"I came here because Father told me to."

"Yes. I know," Dian replied. "Father will be down in a moment. But you're married to a rich old man, why do you look so ordinary? The only difference is that you brought a personal assistant."

"I don't need to show you everything, I'm afraid you'll be in shock and won't be able to sleep." Reana laughed and shook her head.

"You-"

"My daughter is here," Abdi said as he approached Reana and was about to hug her, but Reana avoided her father's embrace because she didn't want to make small talk.

Reana turned her face away because she did not want to see her father, who had lied to her.

"Why did you ask me to come here?" Reana asked.

"I miss you," Abdi replied.

"Missed? There's no need for small talk. You called me here because you wanted to talk about something, right?"

"You keep quiet. Why are you talking to Dad like that?" Dian was annoyed at what her sister said.

"Just tell me, Father, don't force me to be impolite."

"Besides missing you, I also want to borrow some money from you."

"What? Borrow money?" Reana looked at her father's face, which seemed completely innocent.

"Yes. Currently, Damar's business is having problems and needs an injection of funds, but there is not a single investor willing to invest."

"You don't realize what you're doing?"

"What does that mean?"

"You sold me to Mario, and now you're asking for money? Then, where did all the money Mr. Mario gave you go?" Reana asked.

"What do you mean you sold yourself to Mr. Mario?"

"Isn't that the truth? You and Damar went to Mr. Mario's house and sold me."

"How do you know that?"

"You're asking because you did it, right? You should never interfere with my life again; you don't need to ask me for money, because your proudest children are not me, but Dian and Damar. So, no need to bother yourself to contact me." Reana was upset that her father had let her down.

For a moment, Abdi was silent because he did not expect Reana to know all that. Abdi thought Reana would not know, but Reana knew first. Abdi was indeed evil; he paid more attention to Dian and Damar than to Reana, who had taken away his happiness and Dian and Damar's happiness, because for Abdi, it was Reana who took away his wife's life, since after giving birth to Reana, his wife's condition never improved.

Everyone blamed Reana.

"Why are you silent? Did you sell me to Mario?" Reana repeated her question.

"I didn't sell you; I pledged you," Abdi replied.

"Dad, I've never asked you for anything, I've always done my own thing and never bothered anyone, even when you loved Damar and Dian, I was never angry, even though my heart was jealous that the father I loved and thought would love me was showing favoritism."

"Let's not talk about that," Abdi shook his head.

"Now that you've sold me, I have no right to your life."

"You want to escape responsibility?" asked Dian.

"What? Responsibility? Who do you think I am? I'm not a child of this family anymore. You sold me."

"Dad indeed sold you, but you should think that you are this big because Dad raised you." Dian continued. "You should know how to thank me."

"I've forgotten all of your treatment towards me, but after knowing that Father sold me, this pain really can't be endured anymore; it turns out that I never had a room in this house."

"I'm sorry, but right now I can't explain anything to you because I need your help, I need money. Damar has a pretty big problem outside. So, only you are rich now, only you can talk to Mr. Mario." Abdi had no shame.

"Damar keeps making trouble. I married Mario because of Damar's problems, too."

"Shut up, Rea, don't fight Dad." Dian was annoyed at Reana.

"Why don't you help Damar? All this time, your life has been too quiet. So, help him if you want."

"If I had that much money, I would help. I don't need your help."

"So? Because you don't have any money? "

" That's it. Don't keep fighting. We have to think about Damar all the time."

"Dad, Damar is an adult, why do you always interfere and help him with his problems? You shouldn't be like this. In the past, you said your only pride was Damar, now look what Damar has done for you." Reana was annoyed at her father for not helping her, even when she knew how he sold her to Mario.

"Please, Father, this time I need your help."

"You forgot when you married Mario, who did I help?"

"Yes. I know, that's why I'm begging you, heem?"

" How much do you need?" Reana relented because she couldn't do anything but help her father. Because right now, she was also in surplus of the amount of money Mario had given her. What was all that money for if not for something like this?

"Father needs 2000USD."

"What? I only have 500USD."

"No way. You can't lie; Mario must have given you a lot of money."

"Yes, he gave me money, but only 500USD."

"Don't lie!" Dian continued. "Your husband is rich, there's no way he would give you only that."

"I'm not lying. Why would I lie?"

"If you don't want to help Dad, then fine. Don't lie like that."

What Mario gave was 1000USD, but there was no way he could give it all to his father. He couldn't possibly do something outside of Mario's knowledge.
