"Harry Potter- Ravenclaw"Chapter 174: The Commandment?

While Wyzett was busy slicing the basilisk skin, Dumbledore had already scouted the path ahead.

Their progress was surprisingly smooth; the only real obstacle was a massive stone door blocking the way forward.

"Headmaster Dumbledore, Professor Snape," Wyzett asked as they walked, "if we run into the basilisk later… are we just going to kill it outright?"

The glowing orb hovered lazily above Dumbledore's head as he strolled along, as if merely wandering through a garden. "Well then, what do you think we ought to do?"

"I was so focused on making the Serpentsong Whistle before that I never actually tried luring out the Heir…" Wyzett replied thoughtfully. "Maybe now's the time to put that plan into action?"

"After all, we didn't know the giant snake was a basilisk until now. With one threat identified, we can concentrate on tracking down the other."

"Then let Colin Creevey vanish for a while," Snape said coolly. "It's not too late for Professor McGonagall to handle it."

Dumbledore waved a hand. "Do we really want to send the school into another panic? I'd rather avoid that, if possible."

"Then let him spread the story far and wide—how he escaped death by his own wits. Gryffindors, especially, love that sort of thing," Snape replied, his tone dry and rising with sardonic rhythm. "Don't they?"

"That's actually a rather good idea…" Dumbledore nodded, following Snape's logic. "It would help dispel the fear, turn the legend of the Chamber into little more than a schoolyard joke."

"A prankster who even broke Colin's camera… No matter what, the Heir will be irritated by it. He'll want to prove himself…"

"So, should we change the writing on the wall too?" Wyzett suggested, raising his wand. "I remember the original lines went like this…"

He waved his wand, and two lines of glowing text appeared in midair:

THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED.

ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE.

"Let's shuffle things around a little… make a new message."

With a flick, the letters danced and reformed into different sentences:

SNEAKY RAT CREEP IN HARM A POOR FELINE.

IS THAT THE BEST DEED TO SHOW OFF?

"I couldn't make it match perfectly… so I added a few letters," Wyzett admitted.

Dumbledore and Snape exchanged a peculiar look, but said nothing.

Noticing their odd expressions, Wyzett asked, puzzled, "Headmaster Dumbledore? Professor Snape? What's wrong?"

"Cast a Patronus Charm," Snape said, his gaze sharp.

"Alright." Wyzett traced a circle with his wand. "Expecto Patronum!"

The familiar warmth flooded through him, unchanged.

Dumbledore and Snape exchanged another glance, as if quietly relieved, and their expressions relaxed.

Snape curled his lip. "And what made you think of this?"

Wyzett explained, "Luna told me… the Heir who left those words probably wanted to show off his identity."

"Otherwise, why leave such difficult-to-remove writing on the wall? He wants everyone to remember him, to fear him."

"Fear… yes, he would enjoy that," Dumbledore mused, stroking his beard. "Answering him with his own words… that's quite clever."

"If he's as impatient as we think, he'll come back soon to summon the basilisk. That'll give us a chance to intercept him."

At the end of the tunnel loomed a colossal, ornate stone door, its surface entwined with giant serpents.

Emeralds glittered in the eyes of the snakes, each one radiating a dangerous, lifelike energy.

Wyzett hissed in Parseltongue: "Open!"

The carved serpents seemed to come alive, slithering in a circle before vanishing at the edge of the door. With a deep, grinding rumble, the door slowly swung open.

Inside stretched a vast chamber, easily as large as the Great Hall, bathed in a murky, emerald glow—gloomy and oppressive.

Stone pillars lined the hall, each carved with coiling serpents whose emerald eyes glowed with the same eerie light.

Dumbledore used Transfiguration to probe ahead, but found no threats.

At the far end of the chamber stood a towering statue of Salazar Slytherin himself, his face solemn and imposing.

"Let's have a look around, shall we?" Dumbledore suggested.

The three split up to explore.

Wyzett lit up the mental map in his mind, collecting Ancient Magic as he moved. He also tried using Parseltongue to search for secret passages, calling out in every direction.

But no matter how hoarse his voice became, nothing responded.

The three regrouped. "Any luck?" Dumbledore asked.

Snape shook his head, glancing at Wyzett.

"I tried Parseltongue, but nothing happened," Wyzett admitted. "Maybe it needs a specific password, not just 'open'?"

"Then all that's left is Salazar Slytherin's statue," Dumbledore said, leading the way. He gazed up at the stone face, awed. "Magnificent…"

"Planning to commission one for Hogwarts?" Snape remarked dryly. "A grand statue of 'the Great Dumbledore'—like the ones in the Ministry?"

"I'd never dream of it," Dumbledore replied with a wave of his hand. "I suspect Fudge wouldn't sleep a wink if I did, not until it toppled."

Wyzett circled the statue, collecting more Ancient Magic and trying Parseltongue again.

Suddenly, The Wizard's Practical Combat Guide shivered in his bag. One page finally revealed new writing.

Wyzett focused, recognizing the simple title—just like Fulgur before it:

The Commandment

He remembered Salazar Slytherin mentioning this—if he passed the test, he would gain the method to control the Commandment.

And passing the test meant obtaining a fragment of the body… or winning trust.

Could the basilisk skin count as a "body fragment"?

Just then, an image flashed through his mind—a skull with its mouth open, a thick python crawling out.

The image moved: the snake slithered further, until it was fully free of the skull.

As it did, cracks split the bone—first at the jaws, then spreading to the eye sockets…
