Chapter 387 - Chapter 53: The Acromantulas Died Peacefully

Female Acromantulas were much larger than males. Size advantage showed clearly on Mosag.

This web strand was extremely thick, more terrifying than previous strands, like a cannonball blasting toward Firenze.

"Protego!"

Wizette sharply raised his wand and drew a "1" in the air. Invisible shield formed instantly and blocked before Firenze.

DONG!

Web met Iron Armor Charm and exploded with bell-like booming sound. Firenze seemed dazed by the noise and staggered back several steps.

Wizette snapped his fingers. Flames bloomed on the web like wildfire spreading along the strand, about to drill into Mosag's mouth.

The escaped Acromantulas had obviously told everything they'd seen.

The instant Mosag spat web, she'd already severed it and used it as a "cannonball," avoiding Wizette's repeat trick and preventing self-immolation.

Aragog couldn't directly fight due to his condition and constantly clicked pincers, threatening and enticing the fearful Acromantulas.

The spiders finally overcame fear and planned to join Mosag to attack Wizette together.

"Aguamenti!"

Wizette adjusted wand angle. Thick water stream burst from the tip and shot straight toward attacking Acromantulas.

Spiders quickly spat webs and swung around. Wizette lightly moved his wand. Water twisted like living thing, made rumbling sounds, and swept scattered Acromantulas.

Water slammed into spiders. Amid massive collision sounds, Acromantulas couldn't stabilize in air and all crashed to ground.

"Ansuz!"

Wizette spoke the incantation softly. Obscurus core pumped Ancient Magic power.

Though Mosag didn't know what the wizard planned, she knew water was as dangerous as fire.

Instinctive fear made her ignore attacking—just wanted to retreat quickly and avoid spreading water.

Mosag's choice was undoubtedly correct. After brief charging, the hollow suddenly darkened, like covered in shadow.

Dazzling lightning appeared from nowhere. Ball lightning crashed down. Countless lightning bolts like wild dancing snakes instantly struck water-soaked Acromantulas.

The spiders seemed to go mad, like having seizures, bodies convulsing uncontrollably.

Only now did rolling thunder echo through the hollow.

Though Mosag wasn't struck by lightning, instinctive fear grew worse and made her body tremble uncontrollably.

"Mutatio Formae!"

Wizette pulled his wand horizontally. Lightning-flashing water converged and became cages that trapped convulsing Acromantulas inside.

All spiders trapped—Mosag naturally understood the wizard would focus on her next.

Survival instinct overcame fear, made her stop trembling, and she continued climbing up the web, planning to escape quickly—the farther the better.

"Mosag... What happened... And you all... Why won't you speak..."

Aragog called anxiously. Body moved stiffly, wanting to crawl from the giant hemispherical web.

Mosag stopped moving pincers. She'd reached the web's outer edge—just a bit more and could swing to that tree ahead.

"Mutatio Formae!"

Desperate incantation sounded. Surrounding webs gathered together, fences formed, and closed in from all directions.

By now, she knew she was exposed. Time for final resistance.

She clicked pincers, desperately waved eight legs, and constantly shook her body, trying to use her size to crash through a path.

Unfortunately, things went wrong. These seemingly fragile slender fences seemed to contain powerful magic. Besides bending two fences initially, she achieved nothing more.

"Wizard... We should talk..." Aragog heard Mosag's sounds. "Your voice..."

"You must be a Hogwarts student... I'm friends with Hagrid from Hogwarts... Good friends..."

Wizette waved his wand and let Mosag's cage drop to ground. "Firenze, is that true?"

"True..." Firenze hesitated but finally admitted. "About fifty years ago, Aragog appeared in the forest. Hagrid cared for him since."

Aragog said hastily. "Hagrid and I are close... Wife Mosag... He found..."

"I see... Not surprising." Wizette nodded. "No wonder Hagrid reacted that way when hearing about Acromantulas."

Aragog quickly said. "You're also Hagrid's friend... We're all Hagrid's friends..."

Wizette waved his wand, let one cage return to water, and aimed at still-convulsing Acromantula. "Diffindo."

He cut the spider's carapace and calmly extracted the venom sac. "Firenze, there shouldn't be other Acromantulas. Please help find the unicorn's location."

"Okay!" Firenze nodded repeatedly and trotted aside.

Amid Aragog's repeated "we're friends," Wizette extracted other venom sacs too.

Each Acromantula died peacefully with only small wounds around their heads. Bodies preserved extremely intact.

Aragog's voice became pleading. "Spare me... And Mosag... We're all Hagrid's friends..."

Wizette walked toward the largest cage and asked casually. "When you had Mosag ambush us, did you think we were friends?"

"Yes..." Aragog hesitated but finally said. "Mosag wanted to ambush... I tried persuading her..."

"It's lying..." Mosag clicked pincers, tone agitated. "It told us to kill you... Not disturb its sleep..."

Aragog explained frantically. "I meant... Hagrid said... Don't let me eat people... I didn't break my promise..."

Firenze returned and held a unicorn in his arms, tone full of grief. "Wizette... We're too late. The unicorn's dying..."

He slowly bent down and gently placed the unicorn on ground, tears already seeping from his eyes. "Too cruel... Its blood was drained..."

A shriveled unicorn, like all blood and flesh drained. Beautiful muscle curves completely gone.

Coat once like draped moonlight now incredibly dull. Only abdomen slightly swollen but also had vicious gash.

It seemed to hold one breath. Those beautiful large eyes dull and lifeless. Neck had vicious wound with flesh turned outward, seeping silvery blood tinged with black energy...
