Ivy quickly turned and placed on her shirt feeling a little shy and at the same time embarrassed . "The door is there for a reason, didn't anyone ever teach you not to enter before knocking ?" Ivy asked and turned to face him the moment she was done getting dressed and then realized the broken glass pieces of the candy jar and quickly scouted down to pick them up .
" I'm sorry about that. I really shouldn't have entered without knocking . " Leon said and walked to her in order to help her pick up the sweets that were now all over the ground. He grabbed a bunch and placed them on her desk but before he could pick up another bunch , the two bumped each other's head as they both aimed for one.
" Ouch , you know what just live it because you might end up even messing up even more . Tell me, what are you doing here? You were under surgery yesterday and you dared to walk today .what do you consider your body to be , some kind" Ivy asked and placed the last piece of the broken jar on her desk as she got up .
"I wanted to do something . I'm not used to sitting all day.."
"you could sleep instead. "
Leon Chuckled lightly. " Am glad I didn't stay in that bed . Or else how would I have met some as beautiful as you. I'm Leon Bronson.
" Don't bother we already met yesterday. "
" What, then that means i am not well. Because I don't seem to remember . "
" Yes, of course. But you are quite lucky . I'm surprised. You don't have any future complications aside from the current wounds you have. You just need some rest and soon enough you will be as good . " Ivy replied as she wore her Doctor's gown.
" Now I get it . You must be , among the doctors who operated on me yesterday . So when am I going to get discharged ? "
" Some one is tired of the place fast. "
"Quiet the opposite. This place might seem to have other much more interesting things other than injections and pills. " Leon replied as he stared at her causing her to feel a little shy and avert her eyes to the ground.
" Don't worry ,you will be discharged in about one to two weeks . It will definitely depend on how fast and determined you are to taking the rest and meds that your body needs. I have another patient to attend to. So if you have other questions you would like to ask go to doctor William . He will be glad to help .
"Ivy said as picked up her sweets and placed them all into one of the clothes shopping bags that she had bought and started walking out but Leon was quick to follow her.
" Not to be rude but you're quite too serious for a girl your age and as pretty ."
"Stop following me . " Ivy responded in a serious voice.
I also wanted to ask you out for a cup of coffee . Take it as my appreciation for saving my life . "Leon offered and Ivy scoffed and chuckled .
" I was only doing my job no need to thank me . "
" I insist ."
" This is a hospital . How about you think about your recovery first and then insist on taking anyone out. . " Ivy said and entered the kids ward and that's when he finally stopped following after her and started walking back to his ward . " Such a tough chick.
" Oh my goodness where were you Leon . Do you have any idea how worried I got not finding you in your bed. . Why do you like to act like a knotty child all the time. "
Sandra scolded as soon as she landed her eyes on him . She ran and pulled him into a breath taking hug.
"Don't you ever scare me like you did yesterday . For a moment I thought I was going to lose you . "
" Well sandy you shouldn't think like that , because I also can't risk not having someone to annoy all the time. "
" Come on let's get back . I'm sure dad and uncle will be delighted to see how well you are . Besides what were you doing here ? "
" I needed to pee. And got out to get to the bathroom." He responded as they walked back to his hospital room .
" But there was one inside your room. "
" There was , I didn't notice. So where's my motorbike ? Did it get much damage? . "
Leon asked as he sat at the bed. . Changing the topic. " It's at the mechanic but the money he said that he needed to repair it, you better forget about it . You can even buy another smaller one with it " Sandra replied as she handled a glass of water to him .
" I will find the necessary repair cash . It's just a matter of time. "
"But where Leonardo , where . You know very well that you can't raise such a big amount of cash on your own and I doubt your dad or brother will ever fund another most especially after what happened .
" Of course those two won't agree but that's doesn't mean racing will be over for me . Just because I couldn't get their help. In fact I'm better without it. That's what makes me different from my brother . "
" Leon , I agree with you on that but how will you get the money for the bike repair?"
I will find a temporary job . And then purchase a smaller bike . I will be ready to get back on track once more , race and earn enough to fix the old one . And this time i will be sure watch out for Oscar . "
"What do you mean by that . Oscar couldn't do anything dangerous to you. He is your manager and if you get hurt he probably looses money. " Sandra said confused.
" Oh Sandra you're still too naive . Oscar was the only one with access to my bike before the race. And above all he was the one who found the mechanic to check my bike before the start.
when I drove my brakes were not working . That didn't come as just a coincidence . Someone was behind it . I know it was Oscar for sure but there's only one thing that still bothers me . And that's why he did it, yet he was to get ten percent of the prize cash .
" Could it be that someone else paid him make you lose the race ?" Sandra asked .
" that could be. But that real problem is who . I just haven't figured out who would possibly pay him more than me ? "
" Leon , you're awake I see . " Edward said as soon as he entered holding a cup of coffee.
" Yes , dad . It would take a bigger blow than that to keep me down. "
" Now that you're awake I'm not going to delay this. Leon . I don't want you racing I and your brother need you in the family business . This whole racing thing is nothing but a black hole pulling you down. Now look what happened to you. "
"Dad , we already talked about this. "
" Fine then, you leave me no choice. From now on I'm going to freeze all your credit cards and accounts and if you go on with this stubborness longer than four months. I'm going to cross you out of the family inheritance. " Edward said his voice cold and calm but holding authority and seriousness.
" The cards and accounts . I've long stopped using them and as for the inheritance . I'm okay without having a coin of it. "
Hearing this, Edward chuckled. " Loen my son let me teach you this my son . Never listen to those who say life without money and luxury is splendid . Because it's in fact the total opposite. There's no love or happiness either without money. I will live you time to think it over . But let me warn you that I won't change my decision by any chance you dare to come later than the time I have given . " After saying what he had in mind he then got out .
" What a cold father you have. I'm so lucky i got the softer brother for a dad " Sandra mumbled.
Ivy's point of view.
I slowly walked to my office after I had finally completed all my official duties. I wasn't only feeling exhausted but also feeling a bit stressed out about what I was to say to my father.
My dad is a very fastidious man and although I love and respect him , I can't deny the fact that he is a control freak. He monitors each and every movement of every one in his family which is laterally of four people. Me and my two little siblings Albert and Yvonne plush their mother Frida. And aside from the mentioned Dad didn't consider any other long distance relatives as his family . One would think that he didn't have any other people aside from us .
I sat in my soft comfortable seat which didn't feel so comfy as it used to due to all the thoughts that were running constantly through my mind. First I had the issue of Fredrik clinging on to me and yet, I wasn't expecting any help from my dad whom I took for my night and shining amor .
Growing up Dad and I were always a team of two after we had lost mom . Dad dedicated almost most of his time to me as a child but the only problem was it exactly. He was facing a hard time taking care of me and his hectic work both at the same time . At five time came when he was never around. he used to go to his different official duties and meetings and I was mostly left at home alone with the maids and his assistants .Till time he came back home from one of his usuals with Frida who was pregnant with my little brother Albert . I didn't like the idea of having a Stepmom much after watching all the Cinderella movies and all but however I had to endure it , at least for dad .
I thought that I wasn't going to be lonely as before having some siblings but it was the total opposite description.
Yes they were my siblings but she used to treat us like we were definitely unrelated.
She could take Albert and Yvonne to our family beach house, country house , resort and different places whenever dad wasn't around and could only come back after several days . At first I didn't understand why since I was very little until I turned seven . Frida did want me to get a bond with her kids . She didn't see me as a child but only as a threat and reminder that I was the most beloved and prioritised child that my dad had .
I was mostly lonely most of my childhood . The only chance I had not to be was when I attended school which was also stopped by my dad at the age of eight, since he thought that it was risking my safety since he had expanded his business chain.
I used to be sad and silent most of the time and for that reason being dad used to do anything that I could ask from him . And seemed to be a little soft when matters concerned me. But that didn't mean that I could break his rules and orders . Dad's words at home were a rule and none of us who belonged under his family were to break it or disobey his decision.
To be honest I don't know about Frida and the guys but I only obeyed him due to the love I had for him . Dad was the only parent i had since I lost my mother when I was about eight months. Dad has always tried and keeps on trying to be the best of a father that he could. He has done a lot for me and yet still does. And for that reason I choose to be obedient and patient with all his demands.
Until now. If he had chosen Fredrik my future partner . Then that meant that he expected me to go with it wether I like it or not. I definitely hated that side of him but what can i do about it , he's never going to change. . Still in deep thoughts of what to tell my father in order to convince him of how much I didn't need for me and Frederick to be married . I heard my phone ringing . I noticed my dad's picture emerging on the screen indicating that he was the one calling me .
My heart almost skipped knowing that I was about to get tremendously scolded .
" Heeyy , dad. "
" Ivy , Why weren't you picking up your dumb phone . Do you even have any ideas what you made me go through thinking that you maybe aren't okay? "" Dad snapped. His voice both angry and loud at the same time.
" I'm sorry dad . I must have worried you . But please don't be . I'm okay . I had forgotten my phone in one of the lockers of my office desk and I accidentally forgot to pick it up when I was heading out . "
" I didn't raise you to be a forgetful and irresponsible person Ivy . Never let this happen another time . " He warned, his voice filled with authority after letting out a small breath .
" Yes dad , I got it . "
" where did you spend the night yesterday. And when did i permit you to do so?"
I rolled my eyes hearing his words trying to get myself to control my words not to offend him . Seriously who even asks such a question to a twenty six year old.
" I slept over at my cousin Vanessa's apartment.. Remember you yourself permitted me to visit her wherever i wanted to . "
" Of course I know what I told you but didn't tell you not to inform me . Come home , I have organised a dinner party with important guests and I need every one of the family to be present . I know that your day shift is over . Be sure to make it here within an hour. " He said and without waiting for my response ,he hung up.
I sighed and rolled my eyes as I gathered myself up to my car . I slowly drove to my father's house which is laterally more of a mansion than a house .
I swiftly walked inside and found all the maids moving up and down . Bussy with preparations of the party I haven't really understood what for. . Dad hadn't informed me that it was going to be a big ceremony .
I saw Frida from a far directing and ordering the maids on what to do and place different stuff and quickly turned for the stairs.
By now you probably know that she isn't my favourite person .
" Ivy , hold it" she said stopping me without even turning to look back . It clearly indicated that she had seen me long ago ..
I stopped for a minute to know what she wanted from me . She slowly walked to where I was. She was dressed elegantly and looked pretty . One could even think that she was in her late thirties which she clearly wasn't.
" Your father wanted me to help you do your makeup. Thus let's go together .
She said and I chuckled sarcastically. " Wow and since when do you help me out with my life problems. I will do my makeup myself . I don't need your help. " I said and turned to leave .
" Your dad chose a dress for you. He said that you should wear it today, at the party . I'm going to send Lisa with it . " She said and then went back downstairs.
I quickly walked to my room and fell onto my bed . I landed on my back and faced the ceiling and lights. And just then my memory went back to that handsome hotel. patient that bugged into my office today.
Wow , I have never seen any man as hot and attractive as he looked . He had the word temptation written all over his body . I bet girls go crazy for him the moment they set their eyes on him. I wonder how I couldn't even notice it during the surgery. Maybe probably due to the stress and consecration i had at the time. But thank goodness I didn't . I would have gotten distracted and ended up messing up just like earlier.
I heard knocks on my room door and i knew that it was definitely Lisa .
" It's open you can get in. " I said granting her permission. Lisa entered holding a beautiful neatly folded red dress . It's texture looked expensive and at the same time pretty . Lisa handled it to me the moment I had sat up straight .
" Come on wear it . I would like to see how good it looks on you . I bet you're gonna look just like a princess . Straight from a fairytale. " Lisa said happily as usual.
Me and Lisa have been friends since i was seventeen. Her mother was one of our maids. . Lisa wasn't one of our maids but used to come over every once in a while to help feel in for her mum . And sometimes I hung out with her ." Dad wasn't against it since he lately knew that I lacked friends and all because of him . But Frida didn't like her so much.
Frida had this bad habit of hating to associate with people who were lower to our social status. And had managed to plant the bad seed in my siblings. They were always mean whenever they had any conversation with her and most of the time looked at us weirdly when they could find me hanging out with her . But we really don't mind what ever they thought or said about it.
Lisa had the happiest personality I have ever come across . She normally managed to cheer and make me forget my problems and thoughts. At times she even understood me more than even Vanessa.
