"I just want you and Ethan to be alright."
The Matron Grant spoke again, and Serena Sullivan was momentarily stunned.
"Alright?" Finn Chandler found it amusing; members of The Grant Family kept advising Serena Sullivan not to dwell on Ethan Grant.
"Serena doesn't deserve Ethan Grant; she can't possibly enter The Grant Family."
This was what Mr. Grant and Renee Grant had said verbatim.
The Matron Grant lowered her head, feeling embarrassed.
She knew her husband and stepdaughter didn't want Serena Sullivan to marry Ethan Grant; once upon a time, neither would she.
But...
Four years had passed; she watched her son become someone else. What was there left to figure out?
"Serena, saying this, I know you won't believe." The Matron Grant lifted her head again, her eyes sorrowfully fixed on Serena, words she originally only wanted to speak to Serena.
With Anna and Finn Chandler present, it was better for Serena not to harbor resentment against Ethan.
