"When you were taken away, hardly anyone saw."
Mrs. Kane said gently, turning her head to instruct the servant to bring over the brewed ginger tea, feeding June Kane personally.
"Besides, you haven't done anything wrong."
Mrs. Kane's words made June Kane's face look icy and unpleasant.
As Mrs. Kane scooped up the ginger tea to June's lips, June stretched out a trembling hand and knocked the ginger tea directly away.
The boiling ginger tea splashed all over Mrs. Kane's hands and body, it must've hurt a lot, yet not a single sound escaped her except ordering a servant to bring a clean towel to wipe herself dry.
"Your anger is useless."
"Get well first, then we'll talk!"
Mrs. Kane displayed remarkable patience; even as June treated her like this, she managed to hold her temper and persuade her—something that made the Kane family's servants think June was going too far.
One is a daughter already married off, the other is the mistress of the Kane family.
