Julian didn't say "girlfriend," he directly said "she's mine" as he introduced her to Mrs. Ford.
His words clearly laid out his attitude toward Finn.
"Chloe, this is Mom." Julian introduced softly to Finn, and Finn followed his lead, smiling at Mrs. Ford. "Mom."
She had spent ages in front of the mirror today just practicing how to smile elegantly.
After she called out, Mrs. Ford froze for a moment, while Finn kept smiling, not feeling that anything was off.
"Sit." Mrs. Ford spoke, her tone faint.
After Julian and Finn came in, her expression stayed the same; you couldn't tell whether she liked Finn or disliked her.
Only when Finn called her "Mom" did a flicker of surprise appear on her face.
Finn followed Julian with a smile and sat down. Just as she was about to sit, she politely said to Mrs. Ford, "Thank you, Mo…"
