Mrs. Ford is even more like the head of The Ford Family than Mr. Ford.

Julian Ford called out in a subdued voice, thinking Mrs. Ford said that because she was going to oppose him and Finn Chandler.
"The wedding must go on."
He spoke in a tone that brooked no discussion.
The usually gentle Julian Ford could be just as domineering as his own biological mother.
He might look mild, but once his mind was made up, it was firm.
All these years he'd followed the road Mrs. Ford paved for him, step by step to get here. If Mrs. Ford now chose to oppose this marriage like Mr. Ford and the others, he didn't mind going head‑to‑head with them for Finn Chandler's sake.
"Julian!"
Fiona Ford softened her voice. "Mrs. Chambers jumped off the building today. That's way too ominous for a wedding."
"How about we postpone the wedding for now and take care of Mrs. Chambers's funeral first?"
