Lily Shaw hung up the phone, but soon it rang again. She glanced at the name flashing on the screen, something churned inside her chest.
All her calm facade collapsed in an instant, and she spoke to Jude on the other end of the call with a choked voice, "Brother, my heart feels awful."
This wasn't her first time killing, nor was her distress due to killing. She simply thought about the scene where Aiden Grant was nearly run over, and her heart ached fiercely.
Jude on the other end remained calm as usual, her sobbing voice seemingly not affecting him at all. He responded calmly, "Mm."
