Lily Shaw clung to him tightly, her head resting against his chest, and her voice trembled as she continued:
"I'm starting to regret marrying you so impulsively, regretting not getting to know you better... Your actions make me feel like you don't respect me, you don't care about me like you did before, and I even feel abandoned by you..."
"Lily, I'm sorry, I really..." Aiden Grant lowered his head and kissed the top of her hair, trying hard to use his actions to comfort her wounded heart and lessen the grievances she felt deep inside.
Hearing his remorseful words, Lily blinked to let the tears in her eyes fall, then looked up at him, her cool fingers gently caressing his eyes: "I want to ask you, on the day Miles Morgan called off the engagement, why did you appear so coincidentally? Why did you marry me? Be honest with me!"
