Lily Shaw looked at her teary-eyed best friend, pursed her lips into a smile, and a gentle mirth played in her eyes. She deliberately tilted Mandy Young's chin, teasingly saying, "Mandy, since you're so touched, why not offer yourself in gratitude?"
Mandy Young, hearing her teasing, gently slapped her hand away, giving her a playful glare. She said, "Lily, you're a woman with a family now; I refuse to be the shameful homewrecker."
Though she complained, the sadness in her heart vanished, knowing Lily was trying to console her.
"Mandy, you're so ruthless, you slapped my hand red!" Lily clutched her supposedly slapped arm pitiably, pretending to rub it, a mischievous glint flashing in her eyes.
Mandy Young heard this and believed it, immediately lowering her head to check Lily's hand.
