Mandy Young waved her hand nonchalantly and said with a big, carefree smile, "Why is he rushing me? I'm the one paying for him to come along. If he doesn't want to go, no big deal—we can always find Roy Thompson once we're there."
Hearing this response, Lily Shaw couldn't help but twitch her lips. She felt increasingly sorry for Henry Lennox, who had wasted so much effort and time pursuing Mandy, yet the girl didn't take him seriously at all.
Even though Lily Shaw had long known her best friend was a bit quirky, she hadn't realized Mandy's thinking could be so unconventional. If she were Henry, she'd probably be infuriated by now.
"Mandy, who are you calling? Henry?" Lily was about to carefully choose her words to subtly suggest Mandy drop the idea of inviting Henry to the Host Club, but Mandy went ahead and hit dial on her phone, calling Henry directly.
