The flames seemed to have a life of their own, continuously licking at the bodies of the Undead Creatures. Many of the Skeleton Warriors' bones even began to melt, and the Zombies' skin gradually carbonized. The arrows shot by the Skeleton Archers were incinerated into smoke by the surrounding inferno before they could even touch the volcano's surface. These projectiles, bone arrows condensed from undead energy, were far harder than ordinary wooden arrows, yet they still couldn't withstand the volcano's extreme temperatures. It was a clear demonstration of just how unimaginably hot the volcano had become.
Fang Zhou glanced back and saw that the members of the Thunderfire Squad were still busy setting up the Array; they evidently needed more time to finish. I can only keep waiting, he thought, I wonder if their Array will even work.
