Chapter 258 - Chapter 258: Defying the World's Greatest Taboo

Tsunade suddenly grabbed Ryun's hand. "No matter what, I support you. I will return to my family home now and organize all the Water Release and Earth Release C-rank jutsu of the Senju clan."

Ryun was deeply moved. He took a deep breath. "Thank you, wife. But, once this matter is done, it will offend every clan. So you better not get involved." Ryun looked at Tsunade sincerely, holding her hand, and murmured.

Yes, that was right. Even though C-rank jutsu were considered weak, Ryun's approach was equivalent to digging the graves of those smaller shinobi clans.

If everyone in Konoha could learn C-rank jutsu, there would be no immediate impact, as they were low level jutsu. But if some people were exceptionally talented and used these C-rank jutsu to break through class barriers, then those small clans would be the first to suffer. The great clans had heritage and strength. Merely releasing C-rank jutsu was acceptable, they were not A-rank jutsu after all.

But the small clans, at best, only had B-rank jutsu within their families. Moreover, they could not guarantee that their descendants would be more outstanding than those from civilian backgrounds.

However, this was only the first step. If Ryun opened access to C-rank jutsu, what about opening access to B-rank jutsu later? Then the great clans would become wary.

Civilian shinobi had nothing to lose. They were solely focused on improving their own strength and status. If they mastered B-rank jutsu well, it was not impossible for them to defeat clan shinobi who possessed A-rank jutsu.

Education was meant to make you aware of class, not to help you transcend it. The situation in Konoha resulted in clans becoming increasingly powerful and their status rising higher.

Meanwhile, civilians found it harder to distinguish themselves, often ending up as cannon fodder on the battlefield or scapegoats for the clans. This was the current state of the Five Great Nations and their Five Great Shinobi Villages.

There was no helping it. No one dared to defy this greatest taboo of the world. But Ryun wanted to try to change the status quo and realize his ideal.

This was perhaps what made him different from others. Tsunade was fascinated by this. Even though she also thought it was very dangerous and nearly impossible, since the person implementing it was her husband, Ryun, she would help him succeed even if it cost her her life.

"You cannot say that. Now, I, Tsunade Senju, princess of the Senju clan, granddaughter of the Daimyo of the Land of Fire, am your wife. Naturally, I should share your burden."

"Besides, what you are doing is entirely beneficial for Konoha's overall strength. I have no reason not to support it." Tsunade smiled.

Ryun was taken aback. "This matter is not as simple as you think. If handled poorly, even I could be forced to step down, and the Uchiha clan might face eternal ruin."

"If you don't try, you will never succeed. The greater the risk, the greater the potential reward."

"When I was at the academy, the top students in every class were all from major clans. The best of the civilian students only achieved middling to lower grades. I also wondered back then if this state of affairs was right."

"But as I grew older, I understood the cruelty of this world. Faced with this reality, I chose to give up and ignore it. But husband, you are fighting for the civilians. If this succeeds, you will lead an era." Tsunade was not afraid. Her eyes now were full of stars.

She looked at Ryun as if she could see a future where he received support from all the civilians of the shinobi world, her heart blooming with joy.

"Wife..." Ryun knew his wife Tsunade was comforting him, supporting him, saying encouraging things.

But, that was enough. He could not let Tsunade get dragged into this. Ryun made up his mind. "Wife, please listen to me, okay? Let me test the waters first this time. You wait and see."

"But..." Tsunade started to speak but then stopped. Ryun waved his hand and smiled. "Be good, let's eat."

Then he began to calculate the next steps in his mind.

Tsunade pouted. She understood her husband wanted to protect her. But, she just wanted to support him together.

Ryun calculated in his heart. This path was destined to be difficult. Currently, the external threats were only Black Zetsu and Kato Dan, and the situation was relatively stable. It was time to vigorously address Konoha's internal problems.

This restructuring was destined to require sacrifice, destined to have bloodshed. Otherwise, how could they replace the old with the new?

A great man once said, minimize the number of your enemies and maximize the number of your friends. Thinking of this, Ryun's eyes lit up. He quickly ate a few more mouthfuls of rice, then put on his clothes. "Wife, I have some things to do tonight. You go to sleep first."

Tsunade bit her chopsticks, looking at Ryun's back. Finally, she made up her mind. You tell me not to do it, but I will do it anyway. I am not just a pretty vase.

So Tsunade took a deep breath, put on her shinobi gear, and headed towards the Senju clan district. At the very least, she would get her grandfather and second grandfather on board.

Ryun, taking advantage of the night, hurried towards the Uchiha clan compound.

When he stood at the entrance of the Uchiha compound, shinobi immediately opened the main gate to welcome him in, while another went to notify the clan head and others like Madara.

Soon everyone gathered together. Ryun did not speak. Madara frowned. Even when facing great armies or life threatening dangers, his grandson would not be this silent. It seemed the matter tonight was very serious.

"Yo, shouldn't you be spending your wedding night with your new bride instead of coming back to see us old folks?" Izuna Uchiha said with a teasing tone.

"It can't be that you're incapable, right? And it's only been one day." As he spoke, Izuna glanced down at Ryun's lower body and shook his head.

Madara shook his head. He knew his brother was not mocking Ryun, but deliberately lightening the mood to stop Ryun from being so silent.

Hearing this, Ryun was startled, then shook his head. He knew exactly what his grandfather was like. He was definitely doing this on purpose, to distract him.

"Grandfather, whether I am strong or not, others might not know, but our own family certainly does. I came tonight because I plan to do something major. If it succeeds, we, and even the Uchiha, will be remembered throughout history." Ryun said gravely.

Hearing this, Izuna also became serious. He understood that the greater the potential reward, the greater the risk. A major event that could make the Uchiha clan famous for millennia, if failed, could instead make them infamous for millennia, or even lead to the clan's annihilation.

Hirotomo Uchiha, who was nearby, sighed. Had this day finally come? He looked at Ryun with a complex expression in his eyes.

Remembering the vision from his ocular jutsu, the Illusory Realm of Shackles, he slowly closed his eyes.

Ryun noticed this. He looked at Hirotomo, his eyes carrying a sense of inquiry. Honestly, he knew nothing about this old man's Mangekyō Sharingan abilities.

Today was a good opportunity to ask.
