Chapter 278 - Chapter 278 Eastern Expedition Against Fire

Ryun naturally understood why these merchants were acting this way now.

Earlier, the merchants were watching the show simply because they were afraid of getting into trouble, so they stayed put to watch. Now, each one crowding around was coming because of his and Tsunade's reputation.

Ryun did not respond to their enthusiasm. Instead, he took Tsunade's hand and used the Flying Thunder God Technique, disappearing from everyone's sight.

In just an instant, the two returned to the villa. It was already dark. They had originally wanted to stroll around a bit longer, but were disgusted by those merchants and the son of the Land of Earth's Daimyo.

"Husband." Tsunade could see that Ryun was in a bad mood. Not knowing how to comfort him, she kissed him on the lips.

The gloom in Ryun's eyes immediately dissipated. In an instant, his eyes were filled only with Tsunade. He raised an eyebrow, a smile playing on his lips, and picked Tsunade up in his arms.

Tsunade let out a surprised gasp. "What, what are you doing."

Ryun's lips curved upward. "You!"

Tsunade was stunned for a moment, but quickly understood, a blush spreading across her cheeks. "Ugh! Pervert!" However, she did not resist, as she remembered what she had promised Ryun before they went out.

Besides some nervousness and shyness, she also felt some anticipation and excitement.

The bed curtains were drawn, blocking all light. (Ten thousand words omitted here)

Early the next morning.

Ryun got up. Looking at the aftermath of last night's frenzy, he couldn't help but swallow. He really was young, his body could take it.

But this feeling of having tasted something addictive was incredibly stimulating. He licked his lips, looked at Tsunade, kissed her on the cheek, and then started getting dressed.

After making breakfast, he left it on the table along with a note for Tsunade, telling her the food was on the table and where he was going.

The original plan was to teach at the Konoha Ninja Academy today. But after last night's events, he knew this matter had to be dealt with first.

So, he first went to Danzō Shimura's house and instructed him to substitute for him at the academy, teaching those few youngsters. He then tossed Danzō a few scrolls of C-rank ninjutsu, covering Wind, Fire, Lightning, Water, and Earth styles.

Danzō Shimura saw Ryun wearing his Hokage robe, looking serious, and coming so early. There must be important business!

So he nodded. "Do not worry, Lord Hokage. You can go handle your business with peace of mind. Leave the matters at the Ninja Academy to me during this time!"

Ryun nodded. "I trust you to handle things." He patted Danzō Shimura's shoulder as a sign of approval.

Danzō Shimura shook his head. "It's all for Konoha. It's nothing!" Danzō's current level of ideological awareness was surprisingly high, even to Ryun.

What would the original Danzō think if he knew?

Ryun shook off those unrealistic thoughts. Using the Flying Thunder God Technique, he went to the Hokage's office. He ordered the Anbu to notify all shinobi clans and civilian families to send representatives for a meeting!

Land of Earth

"Lord Daimyo, the Crown Prince died unjustly. He was kind to others, honest and dutiful, benevolent and righteous. Who would have thought that Uchiha Ryun would, without a second word, draw a large sword and cut off the Crown Prince's head!"

"This subordinate is not spouting nonsense. Many people saw it. Not only the guards, but merchants in the Short Record Street can also testify!" The guard who had retreated after threatening vengeance reported.

At the same time, a companion who had been with him came in, holding the head of the Daimyo's eldest son. The Land of Earth Daimyo was furious. "Bring Ōnoki to me! Tell him to prepare for an eastern expedition. This time, he will have unlimited funds, unlimited supplies, and unlimited manpower. I want to trample Konoha and view their cherry blossoms!"

"Yes, sir!" The guard clasped his hands and withdrew to arrange these matters.

The Land of Earth Daimyo's face was grim. He knew what his eldest son's character was really like. But none of his sons were particularly capable. Only this eldest one was somewhat able to maintain what they had, if not expand it. He had been quite satisfied with that.

Now, Konoha, you show no mercy. Do not blame this old man for sending troops to Konoha!

Iwagakure

Ōnoki had just arrived at the Tsuchikage's office in the morning when he saw Kitsuchi walk in flustered, bringing that guard with him.

Ōnoki frowned. What was going on? Kitsuchi was, after all, the future successor. How could he not keep his composure like this? So what if it was the Daimyo's guard? Even if the Land of Earth Daimyo himself came, he shouldn't be this flustered.

"Kitsuchi, panicking at the first sign of trouble, what kind of behavior is that! I am very disappointed in you!" Ōnoki was reviewing documents, deliberately ignoring the guard to put him in his place, not looking up.

"Father..." Kitsuchi frowned and started to speak, but Ōnoki threw his pen, aiming it at the guard, and pointed at Kitsuchi, saying, "How many times have I told you, address me by my title during work!"

The guard felt wronged. You're scolding Kitsuchi, so why throw the pen at me? What did I do to deserve this?

Ōnoki glanced at him, sneering inwardly. I can't bear to hit my own son, but you? I don't care about you!

"Fa..." Kitsuchi was about to call out again, but Ōnoki shot him a glance. Kitsuchi swallowed the word 'father' and instead clasped his hands and said, "Lord Tsuchikage!"

Only then did Ōnoki sit down, pulling out another pen to continue reviewing documents. However, he said calmly, "Speak. What matter is important enough for the Daimyo to send someone to the village?"

The guard looked at Kitsuchi. Kitsuchi signaled for him not to speak, that he would explain.

"Lord Tsuchikage, there is good news and there is bad news." Kitsuchi said.

"Just say it, no nonsense!" Ōnoki's voice carried a domineering tone.

Kitsuchi nodded. "The Daimyo has ordered us to launch an eastern expedition. He will provide unlimited funds, supplies, and even manpower!"

Ōnoki's eyes lit up. This was indeed good news. Currently, Iwagakure couldn't be considered wealthy, and was certainly worse off than before.

They had a fiscal deficit that would take about ten years to balance. If the Daimyo was willing to supply resources indefinitely, it would be balanced instantly!

"Heh. Anbu, provide a seat for the envoy." Ōnoki was in a very good mood. An eastern expedition? Probably the Land of Rain offended the Daimyo, right? Beating them up to vent some anger would be easy.

Kitsuchi's expression was complicated. Seriously, Dad, weren't you just telling me to use titles at work? But Ōnoki was the Tsuchikage, what he said goes. What could he do?

Suddenly, two shinobi appeared from the shadows, carrying two stools. One was placed behind the guard, the other behind Kitsuchi.

The guard remained standing but then sat down. He knew how attractive this news was to Ōnoki. However, what happened next was something he never expected.

"Father, you are celebrating too soon. The target of the eastern expedition, the target is..." Kitsuchi hesitated, not daring to finish, and didn't dare to sit down either.

"A man dithering like that, aren't you afraid the esteemed envoy will laugh at you!" Ōnoki was somewhat displeased.

What was wrong with this Kitsuchi! I originally thought of stepping back to a behind-the-scenes role, letting Kitsuchi inherit the title of Fourth Tsuchikage, but now it seems he still lacks the necessary maturity!
