"Pfft—"
That blow struck deep. Angel Yan was completely stunned.
The worst part was that she had no way to refute it. After all, it was the truth.
Especially now that she was taking over as the Angel King—she didn't even have the capacity to think about finding a god of her own.
She smoothed back a strand of golden hair that had fallen across her forehead, coughed twice, and changed the subject.
"A civilization's development requires time. Earth civilization is currently going through a transformative era. He doesn't need to do too much, because his existence is different from our angel civilization. He's someone who stands apart from civilization yet is also integrated within it."
Brandon White's existence differed from angel civilization. Though he was human, he had obtained a god's authority and possessed strength that transcended everyone else.
With such abilities, Brandon could easily reshape Earth civilization into whatever form he desired—for instance, establishing a unified human civilization, or one that embraced all things. But such a civilization would be a product of his own power.
Its existence would be based solely on Brandon. If Brandon disappeared, it would collapse in an instant.
And clearly, Brandon had no such intentions.
He didn't want to create a civilization by himself. Rather, he hoped the civilization itself would grow stronger.
Gods were never something humanity absolutely needed. Humans didn't need to rely on divine power to survive. They could create their own beautiful lives through their own efforts. Brandon had always firmly believed this.
He maintained a clear distinction between his identities as human and as god. He would actively promote civilization's development, but he wouldn't participate as a god.
Everything was left to humanity itself.
Hearing Angel Yan's words, Blazeheart nodded as well.
"My god's civilization really is different from angel civilization. The most obvious difference is how narrow their vision is—always focused on their own little patch of land."
"Such a tiny planet, yet it has over two hundred different nations."
"Never mind unifying the voices within the planet—they haven't even unified the voices within the human race itself."
"Their technological backwardness has kept their vision confined to the planet's interior. They can't conduct interstellar travel and don't possess interstellar transit technology. This is inevitable."
Angel Yan chuckled softly and said:
"You have to understand them on this point, Blazeheart."
"Earth civilization is currently in the pre-nuclear era, after all. Many people's thinking is rather complicated, and everyone has different opinions. The vast majority have no longing for the vast starry sky or the different civilizations across the universe."
"Life constrains them. The stars are too distant for them. Their busy lives are the mainstream."
"Even though they're experiencing an unprecedented era right now, many people's minds are still stuck in the past."
"Even angel civilization, under Queen Kaisa and the Heavenly Foundation King's leadership, took over twenty thousand years to reach the pinnacle of the universe."
Blazeheart nodded thoughtfully. In others' eyes, Brandon was pushing civilization's growth too quickly. Devil Fruits, the Five Elements Armors, magic cards, transformation devices, Divine Beast Eggs...
These things could strengthen the beings within a civilization, but they could also widen the gap between the strong and the weak.
Perhaps slower would be better.
But was this pace really fast?
It wasn't.
At least in Blazeheart's eyes, this pace was already quite slow. If Brandon wanted to, he could concentrate all these things on a select few, giving them strength that transcended everyone else, easily bringing this era to an end.
But with such an approach, civilization's progress would inevitably be slow.
Peace made people lazy, made them complacent, made them crave comfort.
The opposition between humans and mutant creatures, the mutual threats they posed to each other, the apprehension about the future—these were the things that could easily drive a civilization's strength forward.
Spiritual energy was fair. It only favored those with aptitude, regardless of their species or status. The items Brandon created merely gave everyone an opportunity—a chance to change their fate.
Some became stronger because of his items. That was fate. Some transformed from ordinary people into powerful beings because of his items. That was also fate.
"Developing a civilization really isn't simple, especially one where hearts and minds differ so much even within the same planet."
Blazeheart spoke.
"Indeed. But every supreme god has walked this path. Even Queen Kaisa only became king after gaining the love and support of female angels through a long struggle..."
"After the Form Wars, the Heavenly Foundation King and the Apocalypse King willingly relinquished their authority, and Queen Kaisa was formally acclaimed as Holy Kaisa."
Angel Yan spoke with deep feeling. Why did angels have such faith in and dependence on Queen Kaisa? Naturally, it was because Queen Kaisa had earned that right.
"Then if there had been no Queen Kaisa or Master, would the angels still have developed into what they are today?"
Blazeheart looked at Angel Yan and asked.
"Why do you ask?"
Angel Yan raised an eyebrow. Such hypothetical questions held no real meaning. Queen Kaisa and the Heavenly Foundation King wouldn't disappear from history just because Blazeheart asked.
"I discussed civilization-related issues with my god."
"He said that in the known universe of the Super God Universe, the only single-gender civilization to develop into the strongest civilization is angel civilization."
"But it's virtually impossible for another angel civilization to emerge in the known universe."
"In fact, among all the civilizations we know of, there are almost no single-gender civilizations that managed to develop at all."
"Only angel civilization. Solely angel civilization."
Angels were proud—not just because of their power and technology, but because angel civilization was the only single-gender civilization in the known universe that other civilizations both revered and feared.
"So? Did Brandon White's words leave you feeling confused?"
"Are you thinking about whether this model is suitable for angel civilization's future development?"
Angel Yan looked at Blazeheart with interest. This girl really did seem to have grown somewhat while with Brandon. She was even starting to contemplate angel civilization's future.
"My god said that the reason angel civilization developed to its current state is directly related to Queen Kaisa and Master."
"Queen Kaisa's leadership and combat power meant angel civilization feared no other civilization. She suppressed any hostile civilization that dared to offend us. Master used her wisdom to advance angel civilization's technological capabilities, enabling rapid improvement."
"I don't doubt Queen Kaisa and Master's contributions to angel civilization. In fact, I believe that without the Queen and Master, angel civilization would never have achieved its current status. Perhaps with the Divine River civilization's help we still could have overthrown Hua Ye's Heavenly Palace Order, but compared to angel civilization now, there would be a tremendous gap."
Confusion lingered in Blazeheart's eyes.
