Loki: "Speechless.jpg"
If he could've had it his way, Loki would've hoped to draw something valuable from another world, then posted the item info in the group chat — watching everyone gasp with envy and disbelief.
But sadly, he was a complete disaster at luck.
Ordinary Group Leader: "As expected, lotteries aren't for just anyone. Loki's driven that point home for me again."
Ordinary Group Leader: "Thinking you can turn your luck around with a lottery — that's no different from buying a lottery ticket."
Su Yunqing remarked with a sigh.
Richest Man: "The道理 is there, sure. But who among us doesn't hold onto a little侥幸?"
Richest Man: "A thousand points was a pretty hefty sum at the start. But for most group members now, it's money anyone can easily afford to throw away without feeling it too much."
Richest Man: "Especially after seeing Esdeath draw the highest-tier ability in the Baixuan World that one time. Who wouldn't be tempted?"
That was power worth an Infinity Stone!
Ice Queen: "."
When it came to matters of luck, there was nothing even she could do.
Loki: "@Child of Nature, @Fifth Division Captain, @Richest Man, @Ninth Prince of Qin."
Loki: "As compensation for helping strategize — I hope it proves useful to you."
"Ding — Group member [Loki] has sent an exclusive red packet to group member [Child of Nature]."
"Ding — Group member [Loki] has sent an exclusive red packet to group member [Fifth Division Captain]."
"Ding — Group member [Loki] has sent an exclusive red packet to group member [Richest Man]."
"Ding — Group member [Loki] has sent an exclusive red packet to group member [Ninth Prince of Qin]."
The chat group's notification rang in everyone's ears.
This was Loki's special gift to Baixuan, Aizen, and the others — payment for helping him secure the throne.
The previous plan had given him far more than he'd ever been able to obtain before.
Be it the Asgardian people's recognition, or his older brother Thor's acknowledgment.
Baixuan, Aizen, and the others who had helped write this script for him deserved their compensation as a matter of course.
This time, he had personally searched through Loki's vault and found four items he believed would be genuinely helpful to each of them. Though in value they fell far short of the Eternal Flame or the Casket of Ancient Winters, they were still considerably valuable.
Richest Man: "I got one too?"
Richest Man: "I basically didn't do anything last time."
Ninth Prince of Qin: "Same here."
Ninth Prince of Qin: "Compared to Baixuan and Aizen, we didn't contribute all that much to the script's creation."
After seeing the red packets included their share, Tony Stark and Ying Zi'nian were surprised and somewhat embarrassed.
After all, they genuinely didn't feel they'd contributed anything meaningful to the previous plan.
Tony had even gone out to hunt Frost Giants and earn a decent amount of points.
Loki: "I know."
Loki: "That's why yours was just something I grabbed casually."
Loki said, completely unapologetic.
Richest Man: "."
Ninth Prince of Qin: "."
They shouldn't have said anything. Would've been better to just accept it directly.
Ordinary Group Leader: "哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈"
Su Yunqing couldn't help but burst out laughing at the scene.
Loki: "The red packets for the rest of you contain weapons forged by the dwarven race."
Loki: "Though they're not on the level of Thor's Hammer, they were stored in Loki's vault — the materials and craftsmanship are both top-tier."
Loki: "Aizen's red packet contains the highest-quality kind from the Spring of Life. It has the power to cleanse the body, enhance spiritual force, and extend lifespan. The Light Elves don't let anyone below the Elf Queen herself use it."
Loki: "As for Baixuan's red packet — it contains a seed of the World Tree."
Richest Man: "The World Tree's seed?"
Ordinary Group Leader: "Do World Trees even have seeds?"
The World Tree — the one in myth that reached the heavens, whose branches formed the very fabric of the world — possessed absolute uniqueness.
No second World Tree had ever been known to exist.
Given that Yggdrasil itself gave rise to the Nine Worlds, if a second one truly existed, it wouldn't exactly be anonymous.
So how could something like a World Tree seed possibly appear?
Loki: "Who told you World Trees don't have seeds?"
Loki: "It just can't grow."
Loki: "It's not just a matter of nutrients — it might also be the world's reasons."
Loki: "It just occurred to me that Baixuan possesses the [Nature Authority] — so I figured I'd see if this seed could be useful to him."
Of course the World Tree had seeds. Otherwise, where did this World Tree come from?
It couldn't have existed since the birth of the universe, could it?
Loki didn't know much about this aspect himself, but the World Tree seed was right here — even if he found it hard to believe, the fact remained: World Trees did come from seeds.
Thinking about how Baixuan possessed the [Nature Authority], this seed was naturally the most fitting compensation for him.
Perhaps Baixuan might even manage to grow an entirely new World Tree from it.
Child of Nature: "Many thanks."
When Baixuan saw what Loki had sent him, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of surprise.
In Marvel, the World Tree was essentially the same as in Norse mythology — reaching between heaven and earth, from which ten worlds were born.
Asgard. Vanaheim. Nidavellir. Alfheim. Midgard. Svartalfheim. Jotunheim. Muspelheim. Niflheim. And the realm Odin had exiled to — Hel.
Though Loki wasn't certain whether the seed's inability to grow was truly due to the world's reasons, more likely than not it was because of the World Tree's uniqueness.
If it truly could've grown, Odin wouldn't have stored it away in Odin's vault to slumber.
Baixuan claimed Loki's red packet and retrieved the World Tree seed.
Gazing at the brown seed hovering before him, unremarkable save for a faint trace of green, Baixuan extended his right hand. The World Tree seed slowly came to rest in his palm.
For no discernible reason, an indescribable stirring quietly arose in Baixuan's heart.
The World Tree was the cornerstone of worlds — possessing the ability to draw energy and feed it back into the world. It didn't merely support the world; it propelled its development.
In any world, the World Tree was a truly divine object without equal.
This World Tree seed possessed vitality. It simply couldn't grow due to the world's reasons — so when it arrived in another world, Baixuan sensed unprecedented joy emanating from it.
Next, Baixuan's consciousness gradually fused together with the World Tree seed. Countless stirrings welled up within his heart:
The joy of existence. The frustration of being unable to grow. The endless darkness and solitude…
Gradually, countless insights surfaced in Baixuan's mind. The divine aura radiating from his entire body swelled higher and higher.
He didn't know how much time passed before a familiar will startled Baixuan back to awareness from his contemplation.
Even Baixuan, at this moment, couldn't help but feel a trace of chill.
