Chapter 276 - Chapter 276: Another Bronze Door

The sleeping fire dragon opened its copper-sized eyes, glaring angrily at the couple before it.

"Still hesitating! Not man enough at all!"

Ye Liang was still making remarks from afar.

The couple inside saw the fire dragon suddenly awaken. Scared out of their wits, they immediately fled outward.

"Hehe, here comes our chance!" Observing the two escape, Ye Liang quickly pulled Izan Mei into hiding behind some nearby bushes. After the fire dragon chased after them, he and Izan Mei emerged once more.

"Izan Mei, now that the fire dragon's gone, shall we go in right away or wait?"

"Obviously right now!"

Izan Mei marched determinedly toward the center of the ruins.

Arriving at where the fire dragon had stood guard, Izan Mei and Ye Liang noticed upon the ruins' ground a black metallic door made entirely of bronze.

This structure was connected directly to the floor.

"This should be the place."

Izan Mei tapped on the metal door, confirming his assumption.

Just then,

Ye Liang quietly took one step back. Unnoticed by Izan Mei, he threw several pieces of Cyclops flesh toward a distant area. Though extremely bloody and unpleasant-smelling, it would easily attract other beasts.

He anticipated what was coming next.

Once they entered this bronze door, who knew what might happen!

Indeed!

Just as Izan Mei was about to push open the metal door, the fire dragon chasing the couple returned!

It must have been drawn by the scent of Cyclops meat.

Flapping its wings furiously, steam blowing from its nostrils—

Inside its enormous bloodied jaws, there were remains of a woman's clothes; apparently those two had already been devoured.

"Ye Liang, you go in first. There's an underground palace connected inside—we might survive down there!" Izan Mei said calmly.

From his expression, he clearly didn't regard the fire dragon as any real threat.

Ye Liang's face changed slightly.

Pretending to panic, he rushed sideways toward the edge of the bronze door while Izan Mei wasn't watching.

"Ye Liang! What exactly are you doing?!" Izan Mei froze. He hadn't yet reacted when a huge fireball flew straight toward him!

The fire dragon had attacked!

Izan Mei waved his hand casually, extinguishing the fire dragon's flames.

"Quickly come back, Ye Liang! This otherworldly creature is no match for me!"

His gaze was still on Ye Liang.

Ye Liang lost it!

Of course I know it's not your match!

Otherwise why would I run?!

BOOM!

Realizing its flame had been put out, the fire dragon roared in fury. Its eyes blazing red, it swung its tail violently at Izan Mei's arm. Instantly following that tail strike, it spewed forth a stream of thick fire.

Two attacks!

Fierce and furious!

Izan Mei felt somewhat helpless!

Even if he looked down on the Fire Dragon, he still had to block such a deadly attack!

The moment he turned around, Ye Liang vanished into thin air.

"Haha! See ya later, sucker!" Ye Liang laughed loudly.

And just like that—

Suddenly!

He blacked out...

The Fire Dragon was still fighting—he had been thrown aside by Izan Mei, his jaw broken!

Just then, several unknown beasts came charging over! They must have also been drawn here by the flesh of a Cyclops (One-eyed Giant).

As the two sides clashed, time dragged on endlessly.

Ten minutes later.

Izan Mei appeared at the spot where Ye Liang had vanished. He scanned around—nothing in sight. Yet right beneath his feet, Ye Liang slowly opened his eyes!

He fell into a damn pit!

"Where the hell is this?"

He felt around with his hands.

Pitch black—no light at all. The walls were damp earth. As soon as he sat up, his head bumped into a clump of dirt above.

"Why's it so low here?!" He exclaimed loudly.

At that moment, he pulled out a fire starter from his spatial dimension.

As a seasoned adventurer, Ye Liang always carried something like this!

With the faint flame, he examined his surroundings.

A dirt tunnel, with visible water marks on the walls.

"This used to be a dry underground water vein."

Ye Liang deduced.

The air here was humid—it must've held water not too long ago. Those water stains were definitely left behind by flowing water.

He looked up—the place he fell from was right above him, so maybe there was an exit at the top.

"Solid blockage?"

Ye Liang froze.

Above him was only loose soil and some roots—no passage like he had imagined.

"This doesn't add up. If I really fell down here, how come there's no opening?" He muttered, puzzled.

At that moment, a line of ants began crawling over his calves.

Before he could react, he realized he was being moved—carried along by the ants themselves!

"What the?! Are these Hercules ants or something?!" Ye Liang shouted in shock, quickly pulling out his [Black and White Cursed Blades] from his spatial dimension.

The Cursed Blade could suppress evil spirits.

Ye Liang figured those ants were acting like they had some witchcraft in them—they might just work. The moment he drew them, the ants actually stopped moving!

Delight surged across his face.

He took another look around.

This tunnel was extremely narrow—just big enough for one person. The ants were dragging him through it, meaning they must've pulled him here from the front.

Putting it all together, Ye Liang kicked hard against his legs, trying to move backward.

One step. Two steps. Three steps!

The tightness of the cave was nerve-wracking. After quite a struggle, Ye finally crawled out.

He looked up.

There was light. This must have been where he fell from.

Right now, he was stuck inside a bottomless pit!

Just as Ye Liang prepared to climb up, a massive shadow blocked the light above. Judging from its shape, it seemed to be a gigantic Fire Dragon!

"Never mind. I'll wait a bit."

Ye Liang swallowed hard—it wasn't cowardice; he just wanted to give the beast a fighting chance.

He sat idly at the edge of the pit.

Leaning back, he let his legs shake.

Here, he noticed another Underground Passage—nearly identical to the last one!

"I get it!"

"There must be a vast underground Spatial dimension beneath these two passageways," he said. "The bottomless pit connects to it, causing rainwater to flow through the passageways and leaving behind water marks."

He dug open the mud below and soon heard the sound of running water underground.

"If there's flowing water, it means this Underground Water Vein is moving water. Maybe I can swim out from here!" Thinking of the possibility of escape, Ye Liang continued digging through the dirt.

Before long,

he had dug an Underground Tunnel that connected to the Underground Water Vein.

"Splash!"

Ye Liang jumped straight in.

He had a feeling that if he didn't escape from Izan Mei today, he might not get another chance again!

His whole body shivered.

The temperature of the underground water vein was almost freezing!

"Let's do this!"
