Madison and Emma looked up at him, their faces a mess of sweat and smudged mascara, their eyes wide with a mix of exhaustion and desperate curiosity.
"What is it, Sir?" Madison whispered, her voice trembling.
Alex didn't answer. Instead, his thumbs danced over the screen, typing out the exact location of their hidden corner of the Archives.
He set the phone down on a stack of dusty books with a deliberate, heavy thud.
"Another slut of mine is on her way," he murmured, his voice a low, dangerous vibration. "And she doesn't like to share. Which means you two don't have much time left to impress me. Show me what you've got before she gets here to claim what's hers."
