Chapter 33 - Alfa Rodriguez

Someone was tugging on the mindlink, trying to get through. It was definitely a rogue since any wolf who belonged to a pack could never mindlink him, Alfa Rodriguez, the Alfa of all rogues.

'What is it?' He barked through the link.

'I had a very interesting visitor, Alfa. Aria Moonstone.' Michael said.

'So?'

'She wants to visit the pack territory.'

'Why?'

'She said something about wanting to know about herself and her ancestors.'

'Well, you can tell her that I'll tear her to pieces if she comes near my pack.'

He barked again before cutting the link.

Rodriguez walked outside, looking at hundreds of wolves who were either banished from their packs or their packes were killed off, and they suddenly had no homes.

Many alfa's had tried to fight for this piece of land, but he had won every time, because these wolves were not like a normal pack, they were vicious and weren't afraid of killing anything.

Compassion wasn't a word in their dictionary, and this made Alfa Rodriguez one of the most feared alfas of all.

This title was once held by Alfa Kane of the Moonsglow pack, but after he retired and his son, Alfa Flowerew, took over, it changed. Flowerew never waged war on any pack, like his father used to.

Michael said Aria Moonstone. Does she really have a connection with this territory? She could be lying to get others in and throw him overboard. He would stick to his decision, no one allowed, except a rogue.

"Who was that?" Alfa's voice was stern, and his gaze was on Arya.

She couldn't meet his eyes, and this angered him. "Arya, who was that, and what were you talking about? And who the hell is Michael?"

Pete stepped forward to say something, but Kimberly grabbed his hands, shaking her head. She knew all too well the result of someone stepping in between an alfa and his mate, especially when he's angry at her.

"There's something I've been meaning to tell you," Arya began. "I want to visit Moonstone territory, and I was told it's run by rogues, so I asked Michael, a rogue I met at the office for help."

"Why didn't you say anything to me?"

"Because you wouldn't have understood me. And I was scared you'd take it the wrong way... you would think I'm trying to run away."

"So you asked help from another. A rogue? Are you out of your mind, Aria?" Alfa was still mad, but more at her decision then what she wanted.

"I didn't want you to think I was crazy," Arya said slowly.

"Arya, that place is run by rogues, and they kill anyone who gets close. The alfa would never in a million years allow you to enter, and even if he did, I can not risk you going in. If he learns you're my mate, he'll torture you," Flowerew said, concerned.

"Alfa, I need to..." "There's probably nothing left of your fathers old pack there any longer. The rogue would have destroyed everything by now."

"That pack rightfully belongs to me! That ground is mine. I might find a rogue who once belonged to my father's pack, who can tell me about my family, my heritage."

"Arya, we're done here. It appears you won't listen, and I can't argue with you right now. Let's go sleep, and we're returning tomorrow."

"But Alfa..." he wasn't listening. He had reached the door and opened it. Arya stood there, realizing it was no use trying to talk.

Saying her good nights to her hosts, she rushed out after her mate, knowing he didn't know much about the roads here and could end up somewhere else.

After news of the death of Alfa Mark and his Luna spread across the pack territories, many alfas fought to claim their territory, since now, Alfa Mark's old father, who had somehow survived the attack on his pack by Alfa Kane, was in no strength to fight. He was heartbroken, on loosing his only son and heir.

Rodriguez had heard of the packs luna to be a witch, and he also heard that this was one reason the alfa survived.

He stumbled upon the pack territory as a pup, young, hungry and cold. The pack, that consisted of around twenty members, adopted him, fed him, trained him.

"Rodney, after I die, I want you to lead this pack, not as the alfa of Moonstone, but as the alfa of the rogues," the old alfa, Michael Moonstone had said.

"But grandpa..." "No Rodney, I'm far too old and the grief within me is far too much. If my grandchild has survived, this necklace will be around her neck," he handed Rodriguez a necklace with a Moonstone pendant. Then, old alfa Michael passed away.

Rodriguez was nothing but a pup, barely twelve years old, and he had to prove his worth, over and over again.

All of the pack members heard the alfa passing his title to Rodriguez, but some stood by that decision. Others challenged him, not wanting to become rogues. They paid the price.

He never waged war on other packs, never hurt other wolves... he leaves everyone alone, and wants to be left alone. Simple.

"Arya, I understand your feelings, but you must also understand mine," Alfa said, as they were heading back to Moonsglow.

Arya hadn't spoken a word from the morning. Even when Ronald had greeted her, she didn't reply back.

'Bella, what should I do now? I'm so confused and hurt...'

'Arya, maybe you should try to get info about that rogue alfa... that could help you know why he chose that territory and became the alfa of rogues.'

"Arya, please..." "I want to know about Rodriguez. Everything about him," Arya finally said.

"Look, all I know is he was born as a rogue, in his pup form. His parents were killed and he somehow managed to get to Moonstone pack, and your grandfather took him in..." "My grandfather? He's alive?" Arya was shocked.

"No, he was alive. Anyway, he trained Rodriguez and made him into a tough young man, and when he was twelve, or thirteen, your grandfather died, giving him everything. Eversince then, he has been ruling that pack, which grew, thanks to my father."

"Your father?" Arya asked.

"Every time my father waged war and killed an alfa, the remaining members became rogues, and joined hands with Rodriguez."

"So... Rodriguez is way younger than any of us... which means his weaknesses will be a mate.... if we..."

"He doesn't have a mate!"

"No, we can search for his mate," Arya said excitedly.

"Mates find each other, Arya, not the other way."

"I can use my necklace... where's my necklace, Alfa?" Arya remembered what Patricia had said, she has special abilities, and when she gets her wolf, she'll know what they are. Maybe her necklace would help.
