The entire crowd stood silent in the meeting hall as their alpha stood on stage, dressed in a beautiful dark red suit, with a burgundy bow tie. Everyone was thinking the same thing, 'What was going on?'
When he had returned, he seemed distant and disappointed, like he had collided with a truck. Now, he was standing here as if there was a celebration waiting to happen.
Rodriguez kept looking toward the door as if expecting someone. All his people knew something was up, and suspected it had to do something with their Luna, but no one dared ask, or even whisper about it.
Soon, the door to the meeting hall opened, and as expected, a gorgeous, green-eyed young woman walked in, wearing a beautiful gown, the bodice was made of lace, while the skirt was made of satin. She wore green chain and bangles, matching her eyes, and red heels.
Her burgundy gown complimented Rodriguez dark red suit. But perhaps the most beautiful thing was her makeup and hair; lose bun decorated with flowers and sparkly clips.
The crowd made way for her to go to the stage, but Rodriguez met her half way, and took her hand, and walked with her to the stage. He showed her a chair, and she slowly sat down.
"You all must be wondering why I had called for this meeting so urgently!" Rodriguez began, and everyone nodded. "As most of you know, I went to visit my human relatives, and I realized something important. Love is not just an emotion. It's life." He looked towards Michelle, "And I've found mine."
Michelle blushed, her cheeks flushed red, and her eyes watered. She had to take in a deep breath so the tears wouldn't pour down. She lowered her head and smiled.
"I know we've known each other for less then a month; more like we know each other for only a week, but the mate bond is so strong I feel like we've known each other for generations," Rodriguez continued, and Michelle looked at him with tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I met my aunt, who was born as a wolf, but because her mate turned out to be a human, she sacrificed her wolf just so she could live with him; and my uncle Pete, who is a human, yet welcomed me, a wolf, into his home and showed me so much love and care that I forgot I was at a humans home... until our enemy showed up and destroyed our peaceful moment.... which brings me to my other important announcement, one traitor still lives umong us, and she's a female!"
Not only Rodriguez, but everyone else heard their future Luna's heart skip a beat. He looked towards her, smiled, and continued, "But don't worry! I will find her, and before I become busy with that task, I want to ask my mate something."
Michelle looked at him with a happy yet tensed face. She was trying very hard to show everyone that she was calm, but her heart said otherwise.
Rodriguez stared at her with a smile, raising his eyebrows as if to ask for her permission. Michelle smiled and nodded, and his smile got bigger.
He walked to her and held her hands, and she stood up. Then he knelt on one knee and asked, "Michelle, will you be mine, today, tomorrow, and forever? Will you allow me to carry your mark and give me the honor of giving you my mark?"
The words seemed to get stuck in Michelle's throat. The amount of love in that crimson eyes and the hope in that raspy voice made Michelle choke on her own decision.
The silence felt heavy as every eye was on her, waiting for her answer in anticipation. None spoke. Not even a whisper.
Michelle felt the weight of the world on her shoulders, as the hope filled people stood there. Her wolf was screaming at her to say yes, while the human spy was torn between loyalty to the one who saved her, and the one who is the light of her dark world.
'Chelly, what do I do?' She questioned the only one who knew what dilemma she was in.
'Tell him everything. Break ties with Alfa, for you are a rogue. Being in two boats at the same time will only get you kicked off from both, and you will drown,' replied her wolf.
"Rodriguez, I... I want to tell you about myself first. Everything about myself!" She choked out through tears.
Rodriguez got up, his eyes never leaving hers, still holding her hand, and sat on the chair. "If it is important for you, then go ahead."
"My... my parents were killed by rogues when I was three. Before they could kill me, someone saved me, and he managed to kill that rogue," Michelle began, and everyone listened.
"He took me to his pack, and we became inseparable. He was like my big brother and savior, while I was a pup he had saved and wanted to give a good life to, but his mother was extremely jealous of our relationship. She thought I would take his heart and become luna of the pack that was always meant for someone else!" Her green eyes couldn't help but dart towards the blue ones. She quickly looked away, but Arya noticed.
"She sent me away to a boarding school as soon as I could take care of myself, and our messages were sent through his gamma. Then, I was told that he had found his betrothed mate, and they had marked each other, and I had especially come to meet my Luna and visit the moon festival, when I found out that he had made a terrible mistake, and his luna was no longer with him, but on this territory."
The gasps that left everyone were loud and clear. Michelle looked at Rodriguez, only to find his face neutral. No expression was showing, and that's what scared her.
She continued, "I'm an actress so he planned to declare me a rogue so I could help him get his mate back, but what I didn't expect was that I'd find you, my mate here!"
Michelle wiped the tears with the back of her hand and said, "Yes, I'm your mole who passed information to Alfa Flowerew! But I also love you and will do anything to prove my loyalty to you, Rodriguez."
Rodriguez slowly got up and looked at Arya. "You were right! I'm sorry I didn't believe you," he confessed.
Michelle stared. She knew Arya knew about her, but what she didn't expect was that she would tell Rodriguez, and he would do all this, just to dig out her confession.
"You... you knew?" She asked, shocked.
"I'm the Alpha of this pack. Of course I knew! I just wanted to know whether you love me enough to trust me or not."
More tears streamed down her face. "I'm sorry!"
"Not so fast. You still have to prove your loyalty to me and my pack," Rodriguez said indifferently.
"How?"
