Chapter 68 - Chapter 68: Natsuki Was Completely Sunk

MAR was a giant corporation headquartered in East Asia—one of the world's leading magic-tech conglomerates. Their products covered everything from military weapons to everyday groceries.

Naturally, such a massive company had a presence on a demon-special-zone like Itogami Island. They had research centers, facilities, and even a hospital under their subsidiary wing.

Following the Gozo Island incident and the twelfth beast vassal's involvement, Kojou's sister, Nagisa, was sent to MAR for treatment. The reason? Their mother, Akatsuki Mimori, worked there as a department head—and also happened to be her daughter's attending physician.

"You seriously want this silly vampire girl to become the Fourth Primogenitor? You're joking, right?"

On the way to MAR, Natsuki glanced at Remilia with an odd look.

But as soon as Natsuki said "silly vampire girl," Remilia snapped.

"Who's a silly vampire girl?! I am the noble Lord of the Blood Moon!"

"You're always daydreaming and causing trouble. If you're not a silly vampire girl, who is?"

"Witch! I swear I'll tear you apart!"

"Try getting past Laeding first."

"If you've got guts, then stop threatening me with that chain! You only ever use the same few tricks. Don't you get tired of it?"

"Don't want the chain? Fine. Next time I'll use other methods. Ren, instead of taking pictures, record a video next time. Get the whole 'covering her head and crouching down' moment in high definition."

Remilia and Natsuki were bickering again for some completely ridiculous reason.

Honestly, they were both lolis—there wasn't much difference. Was there any point in mocking each other like this?

Ren could only shake his head helplessly while listening to them.

Still, when Natsuki mentioned recording blackmail material, Ren couldn't help chiming in.

"Gladly!"

Remilia: "..."

Looking at Natsuki's confident smile, she suddenly got a little nervous.

Wait… could she really beat me? I mean, she's only been suppressing me with that chain, right? If we really fought, I wouldn't lose, right?

She had never seen Natsuki go all out before. But she'd find out the hard way—after getting completely wrecked and recorded from every angle.

"So this is MAR? That means Nagisa is here too? And the twelfth beast vassal?"

"Correct. Nagisa is in the medical wing; the twelfth is in the research building... But I don't recommend you take Remilia and Fran with you."

Why does she call me "Remilia" but Flandre just "Fran"? Remi wanted to complain, but Natsuki didn't give her a chance.

"Since the Gozo incident, Nagisa has developed severe devil trauma. Bringing those two near her would only worsen it. Even if I bring you, her mother won't allow it. She's well aware of her daughter's condition and won't let any devils near her."

Hearing this, both Remilia and Flandre frowned.

Especially Flandre—she looked genuinely disappointed.

"I wanted to make some new friends..."

Ren and Natsuki both froze for a moment. Since arriving in this world, the people Remilia and Flandre had met were limited to just Natsuki, Ren, and Ophis.

Natsuki hadn't even introduced them to her own juniors.

Especially Flandre—already a lonely child to begin with...

Realizing this, Natsuki gently patted Flandre's head and smiled.

"It's okay. I'll take you to school someday. You'll meet lots of new friends."

"Really? Natsuki-sensei!"

"Of course!"

"Yay yay yay!!!"

Flandre's mood instantly turned cheerful again.

Remilia, meanwhile, watched Ren with narrowed eyes.

"I don't need you to cheer me up..."

"Huh? Did I say I was going to cheer you up? I was just saying, since you can't go in, you might as well go home, you tool vampire."

Remilia: "???"

Maybe she really should kick him to death…

He had been so gentle while feeding her breakfast—and now he's back to being infuriating!

Seeing her about to snap, Ren smirked.

He knew when to stop teasing—any more and she might actually blow.

Ren crouched and pointed in a direction.

"What's over there?" Remilia asked coldly, clearly still annoyed.

Ren gently patted her sleeping cap, which earned him a sharp glare.

Before she could retort, Ren said, "That's where the twelfth beast vassal is."

"Huh? You want me to go find that beast?"

Remilia's expression turned meaningful.

Ren just rolled his eyes. "Aren't you curious?"

Though she often mocked this world's vampires, Remilia was genuinely interested in the power of the Primogenitors. She couldn't challenge the three existing ones easily—losing would be embarrassing.

But the unborn Fourth Primogenitor? She might be able to "play" with its beast.

Of course she wanted to. She just hadn't said it out loud.

Sure enough, after hearing Ren's words, Remilia smirked and grabbed Flandre's hand, strolling off in the direction he pointed.

"Where are you going?" Natsuki asked, frowning.

Remilia replied without turning back.

"None of your business. I'm taking my sister for a walk."

"You—"

"Let them go," Ren interrupted.

Seeing his calm expression, Natsuki sighed deeply.

"I'm starting to regret bringing you people here."

"Even if you hadn't, we'd have come ourselves."

"Then I regret meeting you."

"But if you hadn't met Remilia, Itogami Island might have been destroyed by a rampaging Fran."

"Can I hit you?"

Natsuki's temple twitched. She was barely restraining herself.

"You can. But do you want to end up like this?"

Ren showed off his phone gallery.

Natsuki froze at the sight of Remilia's most embarrassing moments: pouting, covering her head, crouching, even a worm-costume version.

Now she truly understood Remilia's daily suffering.

At that moment, Natsuki was completely and utterly sunk.
