Chapter 25 - Confession

The throne hall was suffocatingly quiet. Guards kept their spears pointed at Nazar until Fairo broke the silence, his voice ringing out: "Yes, she is my sister." The King gasped, ordering his men to stand down. Fairo stepped forward, his eyes narrowed with weariness: "Why are you here? We are exhausted by your endless traps."

Nazar looked like a shadow of herself. She managed a weak "I'm sorry" before collapsing to the floor in a torrent of sobs. Realizing the air was thick with personal pain, the King exited, leaving the three alone.

Nazar wept, her voice trembling. "I thought I was protecting my place, but I was just drowning in jealousy. I loved you, Fairo, and I believed Dalirina would tear us apart. I thought our paths were destined to cross, but I was blind. Your destiny is with her. I should have been your rock, not your enemy. You are my family." She turned to Dalirina, her eyes red-rimmed. "I love you, Dalirina. I was a fool to treat you this way."

Fairo lifted her up, pulling her into a protective embrace. Dalirina, having heard the commotion, burst through the doors. Fearing Nazar had been hurt, she rushed forward, only to be pulled into a desperate hug by a weeping Nazar. Dalirina sobbed as she returned the embrace: "I love you, too."

When the tears finally subsided, they gathered around a table in a secluded chamber. Nazar's face turned grave as she revealed the unfolding disaster. "The alliances are breaking, and the King is paranoid. The Sacred Tree confirmed your lineage, Dalirina—you are the Queen of Dragons, Fairies, and Men. But there is a greater threat. I overheard the head maid warning the King that the Dark Kingdom is stirring. If this continues, the world will burn just as it did in the ancient past."

Dalirina stared in disbelief. "The head maid never breathed a word of this."

Fairo nodded grimly. "Neither did she speak to me."

"Only the Immortal bloodline saw the fall of the Friz Kingdom," Nazar explained, her voice low. "They are the only ones who hold the key. You must leave at once. The other realms know what you are, and they are marching to execute you. I risked everything to come and warn you before they reach these gates."

Dalirina wept, "I thought you hated me." Nazar hugged her tightly, then turned to Fairo, extending a hand to pull him into the reconciliation. In that small, quiet room, the weight of the past was finally lifted, replaced by a grim but united resolve to face the storm together.
