The moment the priest closed the service, Count Graye stood and made for the door to the hallways behind the chapel.
He didn't stop to so much as greet fellow nobles. Which meant his meeting with the Cardinal would be quick and dirty. I'd have to get through that door myself within the next minute or so to actually catch any of their conversation.
And that, in turn, meant I would have no time to observe Lord Peter and Lady Babbley. So the question was whether to follow the Count now and hopefully make some headway in the Graye case or collect my last observation necessary to close the Babbley case.
"Wolf…" I whispered, hoping he was still lingering on the other side of me and not yet surrounded by his fangirls.
"Yes, My Lady?" his response was immediate (and not as quiet as I would have liked, in all honesty).
"I have to go after Count Graye," I murmured. "Do you mind.."
"Lord Peter and Lady Lucy Babbley?" Wolf finished for me.
