"Greetings, Cardinal," Wolf replied to the man with a nod. The Cardinal returned a solemn nod of his own.
"You two seem to know each other well," I pointed out. "Considering your dislike of The Church, Wolf," I hissed to my lackey.
"We've been working on something together," Wolf shrugged, scratching his head. "Pretty decent guy."
"I'm glad I have your approval," Cardinal Richmond remarked, shooting me a smug look. "I have an update for you, by the way. I'll contact you in the usual method."
"Sure," Wolf agreed. Then the two of them fell silent.
"Pardon me," Count Graye, still rubbing his arm from where it had been met with Wolf's elbow, took advantage of the break to pipe up. "Did you just call this woman 'Jer'?"
"No," Wolf and I said at the same time.
"Oh.. I must have heard wrong," the Count could hardly control his smile as he backed down. "My mistake."
"Are you finished with your business here?" Wolf asked me, clearly annoyed by the Count's existence.
"No."
