Chapter 6 - The Emperor

" Arghhh... "

Pluvia groaned as she raised her head from her desk. She blinked several times as her eyes refocused from her nap.

" That dream again... damn you, Dad... "

Pluvia silently cursed her father in her mind as she shook off the remnant feelings brought by the strange dream. She instead busied her mind with her thoughts from before she had fallen asleep. She had spent a while at her desk last night simply pondering on that simple question, Lord Hakurou,

" Why do I want to train... "

Truthfully, she had already figured out her answer to that question; it was because she was bored and thought it would be fun. However, she doubted Lord Hakurou would train her for a reason as simple as that, so she continued to think of a reason she thought would satisfy him. The hardest part of this process was that Pluvia knew that whatever answer she thought of had to be at least partly true, given that the kijn could seemingly easily tell when she lied.

Pluvia groaned as she rose from her seat, glancing out the window, she noticed that the sun was rising once more. She had slept through the whole day and night?!

" Dad damn it... "

She was wasting time, and she hated that fact. She didn't doubt in her mind that Lord Hakurou had informed her father of her wish to train, and it wouldn't surprise her if the old man would not train her even with a proper reason known.

Pluvia paced around her room slowly as she thought about what she wanted to do. After a few minutes she groaned softly,

" Whatever... "

Ringing her bell, she had a maid dress her in different garbs before she went back out to the training grounds to meet Lord Hakurou. She found him sharpening his blade at the edge of the fields, a group of hobgoblins lying beaten in a pile a few meters away. He glanced up as she approached and bowed lightly.

" Have you thought up an answer for my question yet, my lady? "

' Why else would I come back? ' Pluvia mused in her thoughts before responding,

" Yes, in truth... I wish to train just for the sake of it. I want to get stronger for fun. I've tried practically everything else and have gotten bored of them. I want to do this now. "

" I see... Very well. I shall train you, but be warned, my lady, I will not go easy on you. You will be trained just like everyone else. "

Pluvia grinned at his answer and eagerly said back,

" Thank you, Lord Hakurou! "

Her mind barely paid heed to his warning, after all, she was the daughter of God; she could handle some basic training.

' Sure, those goblins are black and blue, but that's because they're goblins. I'm so much better than those pathetic id- '

Pluvia didn't get another second to think before Lord Hakurou shot forward. She didn't even notice when a wooden katana had appeared in her hands, and she also barely registered his pommel as it came down on her head.
