It had been a full year since the Uchiha massacre, yet looking at Konoha now, no one would have believed that the village had once housed—then abruptly lost—one of its strongest clans. Even in the first days after the tragedy, many civilians seemed unable to comprehend what it meant for a clan as powerful as the Uchiha to vanish overnight. Some even whispered with disturbing satisfaction that the Uchiha had gotten what they "deserved."
The reaction from the shinobi, however, was starkly different. Even civilian-born ninja understood the implications of a clan being eradicated—especially by a single thirteen-year-old boy. Unease rippled beneath the surface, concealed but omnipresent. The tension seeped into the village like a cold mist and manifested most clearly in the sudden spike of intensity at the Academy. Training grew harsher, stricter. Fear had a way of making people sharpen themselves.
For Mito and Naruto, the first year at the Academy passed without much excitement—aside from the deeply humbling lesson Mito received from Itachi, a memory that clung to her like a persistent bruise. Beyond that, the year was steady, almost peaceful.
A more heartwarming development was the beginning of Naruto and Hinata's tentative friendship. Hinata had finally stopped fainting at the mere sight of Naruto, a change Mito welcomed with relief. In her opinion, this was progress the universe itself had been begging for.
Outside this emotional milestone, Naruto dedicated himself to his training. Under Mito's guidance, he immersed himself in nature transformation, making solid progress in his primary wind affinity. He learned early wind techniques—Gale Palm, Wind Cushion, Vacuum Bullet—and quickly discovered a natural compatibility with the element.
Mito mirrored this growth. She refined her wind manipulation until it responded to her effortlessly, flowing around her like a second skin. Her lightning training, however, took a different path. Drawing from memories of her past life, she attempted to recreate techniques she had once seen or used. For now, she kept these experiments subtle—small-scale applications only—to avoid attracting attention.
In the second year, the Academy culled the students with the weakest potential. After this ruthless sorting, only clan heirs, a few promising civilians, and the Uzumaki twins remained.
By the Academy's official standards, both Mito and Naruto should have been removed as well. But the Hokage knew the truth behind their artificially mediocre scores—and ensured they stayed.
This year also introduced them to Iruka Umino. In another life, he would have become a father figure to Naruto. In this one, that future seemed almost impossible. Iruka's early resentment toward the canon Naruto appeared in this timeline as well, now directed at both twins. He seized any opportunity to target them—until he made his first mistake.
A pie hitting him square in the face had not been the humiliation he expected when he attempted to belittle the "fox demons." From that day on, any teacher or student who tried to harm or insult Mito and Naruto inevitably ended up wearing dessert, courtesy of Mito's carefully laid traps.
Outside of pranking Iruka into madness, Mito began teaching Naruto the art that made the Uzumaki clan legendary—Fūinjutsu. Naruto took to it naturally, though even with his affinity and Uzumaki blood, it took him nearly a year to understand its core principles. Mito mastered the same concepts in four months thanks to her enhanced mind. Balancing sealing practice with a blossoming relationship with Hinata, Naruto's progress was admirable.
The third year marked the point where the Academy began revealing the true talents of its students. While the first two years focused on physical conditioning and theory, the third introduced hand signs and the basic Academy trio: Transformation, Substitution, and Body Flicker.
Mito and Naruto had already mastered these long ago, but they were forced to feign struggle to maintain cover.
Outside class, Naruto and Hinata's relationship deepened. The only obstacle was Hinata's bodyguard—until Mito devised an experiment. She absorbed a bit of Hinata's chakra and used her ability to replicate the Hyūga heiress's chakra signature perfectly. The plan worked beautifully, allowing Naruto and Hinata far more freedom than they had ever enjoyed.
Meanwhile, Naruto progressed from beginner-level fūinjutsu to intermediate, experimenting with more complex seals and forming his own theories.
Mito was no less relentless. Having advanced from basic to intermediate to early expert level in fūinjutsu within a short time, she decided to enhance her physical training. She began with push-ups, squats, and long-distance running, eventually transitioning to calisthenics and natural obstacle courses in the surrounding forests. She dedicated countless hours to mastering the Uzumaki clan's taijutsu style, molding it into something uniquely hers.
Compared to earlier years, the fourth and fifth were quieter. Iruka and the other instructors targeted the twins far less, though their hostility never truly faded.
Mito and Naruto focused instead on helping Hinata rebuild her self-esteem—something her clan seemed determined to crush at every opportunity. Every morning, they coaxed confidence into her, only for the Hyūga to tear it down by evening.
Eventually, Mito devised a solution: she created a durable clone capable of surviving the entire day within the Hyūga compound, maintaining the illusion of Hinata's presence. Through this careful cycle of deception, training, and emotional reinforcement, they slowly cracked the shell built around the timid girl.
With time, Hinata grew more outspoken, more willing to express her own desires instead of blindly agreeing to everything Mito and Naruto suggested. Experiencing how ordinary villagers treated her when she wasn't weighed down by clan expectations broadened her view of the world. She realized she did not need the Hyūga's constant validation.
Despite her progress, neither she nor Naruto were spared from Mito's endless teasing about their relationship.
The final year of the Academy arrived with a heavy, suffocating tension. The instructors believed that once the Uzumaki twins earned their hitai-ate, they would regain their "demonic powers" and finish the job the Nine-Tails had started. Their paranoia gave Mito the perfect excuse to activate the traps she had installed years before—now enhanced, expanded, and optimized.
Whenever someone acted on malice toward her or Naruto, the traps triggered instantly—exploding ink, binding seals, or humiliating pranks. No one felt safe trying to bully the twins anymore.
Beyond the Academy, however, Mito faced a sobering realization: only one year remained before the events of the original Naruto storyline were supposed to begin. She had no way of knowing what her presence had changed—or what dangers lay ahead.
She needed to evolve.
Her current abilities were:
EBR (Energy Breeder Reactor)
Energy Circuit — channels that allowed her to absorb environmental energy and circulate it efficiently throughout her body. The circuits enhanced her physique passively, giving her the strength and endurance of someone who had trained rigorously for years.
Supermind — multi-thought processing, an enhanced neural network, and accelerated cognition.
Originally, she had enough internal energy for three omega-level abilities. One had been used for EBR, while a fraction powered Supermind.
Given that one omega ability equaled five alpha abilities in energy cost, she had enough remaining energy to form either:
1 omega-level ability + 4 alpha-level abilities, or
9 alpha-level abilities.
Knowing the interdimensional chat group would activate soon—and unable to guarantee the friendliness of its members—she chose to invest in a new omega-level ability:
Telekinesis
An ability that seemed to be necessary as she needed to protect her mind and use it as a weapon to grasp others intentions about her. Something that she would need if ever got in the game with Danzo. Because no matter what, if she is going to face danzo, she will give zero shits about being fair, she is brainwashing him into becoming her lacky.
With the remaining energy, she used energy worth one alpha level ability and expanded her Supermind ability further by adding:
Mind over body:
A ability that grants her complete mastery over her own body—hormonal regulation, metabolism, muscle fibers, and every subtle internal process now answered to her will.
She had transformed herself into something far beyond a normal kunoichi—because she had no idea what the future would bring.
