Simply sharing qi alone didn't have much effect. After all, foreign qi never truly belonged to the recipient — it would disperse soon enough. The only reason Broly could use qi to heal others was because his Nine-Turn Zhenwu Divine Gang contained immense vitality.
But the mass of tumor cells before him had broken through that limitation. Within Broly's qi, it began dividing and multiplying at an astonishing speed.
It was as though it had gained an independent consciousness — no longer just a chaotic cluster of mindless cancer cells.
Broly raised two fingers and gently lifted. The cluster of cancer cells floated up from the refrigerated container and hovered in midair. In just this short time, the cold box had nearly been split apart by its expansion.
Countless tendrils writhed wildly in the air. The tumor was no longer a pus-colored lump of flesh — its surface had formed a layer of black gelatin, shielding its fragile core. From that glossy membrane sprouted countless threadlike cilia.
Those cilia cracked the air with sharp snapping sounds as they whipped around with great force.
Professor Connors stood dumbfounded, staring at the scene before him. It shattered everything he thought he knew about biology.
Fearing that the mutated creature might destroy the lab's instruments, Broly supported it with qi and carried it outside, setting it down on the sandy ground beyond the lab.
The qi he had shared was already half consumed, yet the tumor's own energy kept climbing. Estimating quickly, Broly realized that about one-fifth of the qi he had transmitted had been absorbed and converted — an impressive efficiency.
Finally, when the mass had grown to the size of a small dog, its growth halted, having exhausted all the qi.
At that moment, it resembled a massive insect — its body pulsing with brilliant light that it seemed to use to sense its surroundings. Its tough gelatinous skin bristled with countless spinning cilia, whipping up dust and sand as it moved. Those cilia served as its limbs, propelling its body at incredible speed to hunt and devour prey.
A surge of dark, sinister energy burst from it — a murderous aura so evil it seemed to spring from the core of human malice itself.
Professor Connors was no weakling, but even he trembled uncontrollably under that suffocating pressure, unable to move.
Cancer cells, being runaway normal cells, were inherently greedy — endlessly consuming their host's life force, dividing and spreading until they killed it completely. This creature, born of mutated cancer cells, naturally inherited that nature. Having just awakened to sentience, its first instinct was to feed — on humans.
Its first chosen prey was none other than Professor Connors. With a blur of motion, it lunged straight for him.
Broly, of course, wouldn't let that happen. He raised a finger—
Dodonpa!
A single point of light shot forth, blasting into the creature and sending it flying. It skidded across the ground for dozens of meters before stopping. The black gelatin layer on its surface had been pierced clean through, spraying yellow-green pus and blood everywhere. Dozens of tendrils had been blown clean off.
The monster let out an ear-splitting shriek. It had been alive in this world for less than half an hour — possessing only animal instinct. To it, Broly — the one who had nourished it with boundless qi and given it life — was like a mother.
And now, that "mother" had struck it. Rage and madness flared violently within its aura.
Wounded, the creature only grew fiercer. Its body flashed with light as the wound blasted open by the Dodonpa healed at a shocking rate.
The countless tendrils and cilia quivered and spun at high frequency, propelling the monster so fast that only a blurred afterimage remained.
"ROAR!"
In the next instant, it appeared right before Broly. Its insect-like body expanded to its limit, its maw opening wide to swallow him whole.
That gaping mouth took up nearly four-fifths of its body, filled with rings of razor-sharp teeth. Anything caught inside would be ground into pulp and devoured in seconds.
Broly neither dodged nor retreated — he simply threw a punch.
He had already mastered the Fourth Layer of the Nine-Turn Zhenwu Divine Gang, his own physical strength surpassing even his understanding. His muscles, bones, and skin were unbelievably tough. This punch carried no qi, and most of his strength was restrained — he didn't want to accidentally pulverize the creature outright.
His condensed fist force slammed into the monster, suspending it midair.
BOOM!
With a deafening pop like an exploding balloon, all its teeth shattered, and its swollen body deflated rapidly, collapsing to the ground like a torn sack. Foul-smelling pus gushed out like a burst dam.
With just one punch, the monster was reduced to a near-death state — barely breathing.
Broly crouched down and examined it closely, confirming that it was indeed on the verge of death. Then, he released another surge of powerful qi over its body.
He wanted to see just how far this creature born from cancer cells could evolve.
Upon absorbing the massive influx of qi, the monster immediately revived — roaring back to life as its wounds sealed in seconds. Its body began to swell again.
However, once its size reached a certain limit, it stopped growing. It became restless, agitated, spinning rapidly in the sand while emitting high-pitched chirping noises.
"So this is its limit?" Broly frowned slightly.
Disappointing. Even after absorbing half of his own qi, its final strength was still far below Kakarot's.
He began gathering a large amount of qi in his palm, ready to erase the creature completely.
Sensing the destructive energy, the monster immediately flattened itself on the ground, trembling, and let out pitiful whimpering sounds.
"It might need food," Professor Connors said hesitantly.
"Cell division doesn't only require energy," he explained. "It also needs matter — nutrients. It divided so rapidly just now that it's likely consumed all its internal reserves. Without additional material, no matter how much energy it gets, it can't continue to grow."
He, too, was curious about the creature's true limit. With Broly watching, there was no danger of it going berserk or out of control.
From the power it had already shown, only Broly and Kakarot could probably subdue it on the entire farm.
"I see," Broly nodded.
Through telepathy, he instructed Kaid Eagle to bring several slabs of beef from the cold storage.
The creature, not entirely mindless, seemed to understand. Its violent aura softened, and it sent waves of docile qi toward both Professor Connors and Broly — even the light pulsing across its body dimmed, becoming calm and gentle.
