Accompanied by Sakura, Erika went to another room to attend the flower arranging class, while Natsui separated from them, crossed the connecting gallery, went around the back of the house, and arrived alone in the courtyard's backyard.
Although the scenery of the front and backyards was quite similar, the atmosphere here was noticeably different.
If the front yard was a place for men and women to admire flowers, watch the water, and chat softly, then the backyard was definitely much livelier!
Just as Sakura had said, quite a few people were gathered here, surrounding a simple battleground, watching two trainers battle.
These two trainers were a young man and woman, both plainly dressed in kimonos, with nothing particularly special about them.
Looking at their Pokémon, the male trainer had sent out a Sentret, while the female trainer had sent out a Teddiursa.
At that moment, with the trainers constantly shouting commands, the two Pokémon were clashing and battling it out.
However...
Scratch, Leer, Lick, Growl, Defense Curl, Tackle...
Whether it was the Sentret or the Teddiursa, Natsui saw the same basic moves over and over again.
From his perspective, both the trainers and the Pokémon were at a beginner's level. The battle itself wasn't spectacular, just a simple exchange of moves, but the surrounding audience seemed to be thoroughly enjoying it.
Even though there were no high-level moves, people just loved watching this kind of raw, physical brawl!
After battling for a while, the female trainer's Teddiursa eventually came out on top, defeating the Sentret.
The onlooking crowd applauded, giving their loudest cheers and applause to the victor.
After Teddiursa returned to her side, the female trainer patted its head, then stood up straight, one hand on her hip, and looked around with a triumphant air. "Who else wants to challenge me!?"
It was clear that winning the match had filled her with a sense of pride.
Before anyone else could act, Natsui had already squeezed through the crowd and walked up to the female trainer.
"I will!"
Seeing Natsui's handsome face, the female trainer's eyes lit up, and she smiled. "Well now, a handsome one. But I won't go easy on you!"
"That's great!" Natsui chuckled and decided to be honest. "I hope you'll give it your all and put some pressure on me. But if you're only at the same level as just now, you won't be able to beat me~"
"Hmph, what big talk!"
The female trainer seemed to feel she was being underestimated by this man. She pointed a finger forward and shouted, "Teddiursa, go, teach that guy a lesson!"
Teddiursa ran into the middle of the field and let out a few baby-like roars at Natsui.
"Hmm, quite spirited."
Smiling kindly at Teddiursa, Natsui then reached for his waist pouch, his fingers sliding over several Poké Balls before finally selecting one and throwing it onto the field, releasing his Pokémon.
"Come out, Scyther!"
As the blue light faded, Scyther, who hadn't battled in a while, appeared before Teddiursa.
As soon as it appeared, it struck an imposing pose, ready for a big fight with its opponent. But when it saw that it was facing just a Teddiursa, it couldn't help but look back at its trainer in confusion.
Huh? What's going on?
Why is it such a weak Pokémon!?
I haven't battled in so long, and the first time I'm out, I have to fight such a weak little thing?
Seeing its reaction, Natsui gently shook his head. "Don't just stand there. Never underestimate any opponent. Use your full strength!"
Hearing this, Scyther turned its head and stared seriously at its opponent.
Well, since its trainer said so, it had no choice but to go all out!
As its gaze locked on, Teddiursa felt like prey being stalked by a predator and shivered subconsciously.
Not noticing her Pokémon's unusual reaction, the female trainer had already given the command to attack.
"Teddiursa, use Fury Swipes!"
Teddiursa ran shakily towards Scyther, its not-so-large claws raised high, glinting sharply.
But just as it was about to reach Scyther, Scyther suddenly leaped forward, raised its arm, and in an instant, they crossed paths. The crowd only heard a "slice" sound, and after a flash of cold light, Teddiursa stood frozen in place as if under a spell!
"Teddiursa! Are you okay!?" The female trainer was dazed, having no idea what had just happened.
On the field, Scyther slowly lowered its arm, its posture like that of a swordsman sheathing his blade.
And just as its arm was fully lowered, Teddiursa's body, as if triggered by some delay, collapsed with a thud, hitting the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust!
Glancing back at its opponent, Scyther shook its head in a very human-like way.
Is that it?
I barely used any force, how did you go down so easily!?
Weak, just too weak!
"Teddiursa!"
The female trainer cried out and rushed to her Pokémon's side, cradling it in her arms.
She couldn't believe her Pokémon had been defeated so easily in a single blow!
Is this man really that strong?
But even so, it shouldn't have been a one-hit knockout, right?
She thought for a long time and could only attribute the loss to the long battle with Sentret, which had drained too much of its stamina.
Natsui sighed helplessly. To be honest, this battle hadn't felt difficult at all; the power gap between the two Pokémon was just too vast.
This could be seen from the reactions of the audience.
If it had been an evenly matched battle, the winner would have received applause and cheers like the female trainer did earlier. But because Scyther had won so easily, the audience just stared at each other, not knowing what had just happened!
As a sudden silence fell, Natsui cleared his throat and looked at the crowd. "Does anyone else want to battle me?"
With so many people present, there were naturally trainers who wanted to keep fighting.
After all, they hadn't yet realized how powerful Natsui was. Like the female trainer, they attributed Scyther's victory to Teddiursa's stamina issue.
The crowd became lively again. First, a male trainer stepped up and was cleanly defeated by Natsui. Immediately after, another female trainer came forward.
In both battles, Natsui defeated his opponents with overwhelming force. After winning five in a row, he felt that this level of competition wasn't providing any real training. Shaking his head, he recalled Scyther and left amidst the astonished gazes of the audience, feeling rather uninterested.
