Chapter 407 - Chapter 406: A Woman's Terrifying Competitiveness

At 7 PM, accompanied by Erika, Satsuki, and the others, Natsui and Tamao took their respective Eevee to the battlefield behind the main house.

The sky had not yet completely darkened. Taking advantage of the last moments of light, the two stood opposite each other in the trainer boxes.

The battlefield was uneven and pitted from the many trainers who had battled here during the day. The intense battles had left their mark, and since the tea party had just ended, the servants in the courtyard hadn't had time to repair and level it.

But neither Natsui nor Tamao seemed to mind such details.

After a moment's hesitation, Sakura approached Natsui and whispered a reminder, "Mr. Natsui, don't be fooled by our stage performances. We are also very skilled in battle. Although my sister Tamao is a bit less formidable than Tamao, she is still very strong. Please be careful!"

Sakura's action was undoubtedly a betrayal of her sister, siding with an outsider, but the other three sisters said nothing. After all, Natsui was a guest, and Tamao forcing him into a battle was clearly not in line with the proper way to treat a guest. It was precisely because of this that they didn't take Tamao's side but maintained a neutral stance.

"Thanks for the warning."

Natsui nodded. He appreciated Sakura's kindness. It was clear this beautiful young lady had a better sense of reason!

He clearly remembered from the games that when the player character arrived in Ecruteak City, they would also battle the five sisters, and after defeating them, they would receive the Clear Bell. Therefore, he had no doubt about their strength.

Of course, their strength might not be that outstanding, but they were certainly stronger than the average trainer.

Ignoring her sister's actions, Tamao stood with her hands on her hips, staring intently at Natsui, and said with a cold smile, "I'm going to let you know that we're skilled at battling, not just performing! This time, I'll definitely show you our strength! We are absolutely not weaker than anyone else!"

As she spoke, she cast a subtle glance at Erika.

Hearing this, Natsui finally understood why Tamao was being so particular!

He remembered that he had said they were only suited for the stage, not the battlefield, which was why in his eyes, they didn't shine as brightly as Erika. It was very likely that this remark had angered her!

Sigh, the terrifying competitiveness between women.

Troublesome... so troublesome...

Meanwhile, Satsuki and the others, hearing Tamao's words, were all bewildered. It was clear, however, that something unknown had happened between Tamao and Natsui.

But... what could it be?

At this point, seeing that the battle was unavoidable, Natsui could only focus his attention, shifting his gaze from Tamao to her Umbreon.

Umbreon's fur was black, its eyes were red, and the ring-like patterns on its body were a brilliant gold. It looked like a cross between a fox and a black cat.

Each of the Eevee evolutions had its own unique characteristics, but in terms of appearance, among all of Eevee's evolved forms, he believed Umbreon had the coolest demeanor.

In fact, Natsui was very fond of this form of Eevee. But back then, to deal with Zapdos, he had no choice but to evolve his Eevee into a Jolteon.

If it hadn't been for the incident with Zapdos, he would have most likely evolved his Eevee into an Umbreon.

But that was no longer possible now. Unless he had the chance to catch another Eevee, he wouldn't be able to fulfill that wish.

Shaking his head, Natsui cleared his mind of distracting thoughts and first took out his Pokédex, pointing it at the Umbreon before him.

This wasn't a game, but reality. The information he had was clearly not enough, so he had to understand his opponent more comprehensively.

Pokédex: "Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokémon. A Dark type. Umbreon is a nocturnal Pokémon that becomes active in the middle of the night when the land is bathed in moonlight. It evolves when exposed to the moon's waves. The moonlight alters its genetic structure. Its black fur blends into the darkness, and it will lie in wait for prey in the dark. The ring-shaped patterns on its body naturally begin to glow when the sky darkens, emitting an eerie light."

From the Pokédex description, Umbreon's power would be at its peak during the night.

After learning this information, Natsui unhurriedly put away his Pokédex and then looked up at the sky.

At this moment, the sky was growing darker, and the moon was already hanging low. Although it wasn't completely dark yet, it was about to meet the conditions described for Umbreon to become stronger!

Although Natsui wasn't afraid, he knew he should win this match as soon as possible.

On the other side, both Tamao and the other sisters were surprised that Natsui was still using his Pokédex to check Umbreon at this moment.

They had all assumed that a trainer who had won a major conference like Natsui would be familiar with all Pokémon!

Jolteon and Umbreon slowly moved to the center of the field. From a type perspective, the two Pokémon had no advantage over each other, which was good news for both trainers.

Since it was just a single battle, no referee was needed. Once both Pokémon were ready, the match began directly.

At Tamao's command, Umbreon charged directly at Jolteon.

Although Umbreon looked small and agile, its speed and attack power were quite average. However, in contrast, its defenses were outstanding, and its stamina was also quite good.

This meant it wasn't afraid of close-quarters combat with Jolteon and made it one of the few small Pokémon that could withstand a barrage of attacks!

Under everyone's watchful eyes, Umbreon rushed towards Jolteon and opened its mouth, biting fiercely at it.

Faced with such an attack, Jolteon remained calm.

It had followed Natsui through thick and thin, conquering both the Indigo League and the Orange League, two major and minor circuits. Not only had its strength been honed, but its experience was also very rich.

With extreme speed, it dodged the attack and then raised its forelegs, kicking fiercely at Umbreon.

Double Kick was activated!

As a Fighting-type move, it was the only one in Jolteon's arsenal that could deal double damage to a Dark-type Pokémon!

Thud! Thud!

After two soft sounds, Umbreon yelped in pain and was forced back two steps by the powerful force.

The onlookers could clearly see that in the initial exchange, Jolteon had clearly gained the upper hand!

And this, basically set the tone for the rest of the battle!
