Chapter 140 - Unicorn White Whale

"Hahahaha! That's right! We're standing on Laboon's back right now!"

Luffy pointed excitedly toward the vast, endless sea, laughing heartily, clearly pleased with the shocked expressions on Robin and Brook's faces.

Robin stood there dumbfounded. "Luffy… weren't we just inside Laboon's belly a moment ago? How did we suddenly end up?"

Having never encountered spatial powers before, Robin couldn't even begin to understand how this was possible.

Mid-sentence, she turned her head and glanced around. Watching the churning sea as Laboon swam beneath them, she fell silent, unsure of what to say next.

Brook wore a similar expression. Standing slowly on Laboon's back, he stared in awe as the whale, large as an island, slowly moved through the ocean.

Since they hadn't decided on a direction yet, Laboon was just swimming leisurely in a general course.

Seeing their stunned reactions, Luffy chuckled again but didn't explain further. Instead, he grinned and said, "I'll explain everything later. Come with me!"

Without waiting for a reply, he turned and headed toward Laboon's massive forehead.

Robin and Brook were a beat behind, quickly catching up as curiosity pushed them forward. They had no idea what Luffy was planning to show them.

"Booooo~!"

As Luffy approached the wide, flat surface of Laboon's forehead, the whale seemed to sense something and let out a cheerful cry.

Luffy knelt down and gently placed his hand on the massive scar across Laboon's forehead.

Softly, he said, "Laboon, let Brook and Robin see what you're really capable of."

"Ooooh~"

Laboon let out a human-like response. His huge eyes slowly closed halfway, and a serious expression took over his massive face.

From the moment he gained his new skills, Laboon had been able to use them instinctively, without any learning curve.

"Oooooooooh!!!"

With a sharp, piercing cry that echoed through the sky, the giant whale reared his head back and let out a deafening roar. The sound seemed to pierce through to the other side of the world, like a raindrop falling into a still lake, it sent ripples through the very air.

Crack. Crack. Craaack.

A chill swept across the sky.

The ripples expanded instantly, tearing jagged cracks through the heavens, which began spreading in all directions.

In the blink of an eye, a massive rift opened in the sky.

From within that rift, a blue-white horn emerged, gigantic and awe-inspiring like a pillar holding up the heavens, stretching down toward the sea.

Robin and Brook stared, stunned and speechless, as the horn of solid ice extended from the sky.

What shocked them wasn't that Luffy could summon such power…

It was that the one responsible for it all seemed to be Laboon, the island-sized whale they were standing on.

The massive horn continued to extend, and the crack in space tore wider.

Suddenly, a projection of a Unicorn White Whale, forged from pure ice, emerged in the air.

Its head was long and flat, entirely unlike Laboon's round one, but the sheer size of its body was nearly identical. Frost lingered in the air around it.

The immense figure quickly filled the sky, its sleek, blue-white form shimmering in the sunlight, scattering crystalline droplets of light like falling stars.

Appearing as suddenly as it came, the ice-elemental whale wasted no time. As though it couldn't exist in this world for long, it immediately plunged toward the ocean below.

Like a real whale diving into water, its enormous tail swung downward, stirring up hurricane-force winds in every direction.

BOOOOM!!!

The majestic white whale crashed into the sea like a meteor, sending shockwaves rumbling across the heavens and earth. The explosion was so loud that even distant Loguetown heard it clearly.

In town, villagers rushed to the coast or climbed higher ground, staring at the distant sea in confusion.

"What was that sound?"

"Sounded like thunder… but not quite…"

"Are they pirates?! Are we under attack?!"

"Don't be stupid, didn't you see the hellscape in the plaza just now?!"

People chattered anxiously, treating it like idle gossip after a meal. But gradually, the crowd began to stir restlessly.

"Hey… look! Something's wrong over there!"

"What… what is that?!"

"A tsunami!! It's a tsunami!!!"

"Run!!!"

Out at sea, towering waves, thousands of meters high, had formed from seemingly nowhere and were spreading outward.

One portion of the surge was rushing straight toward Loguetown.

A moment earlier, the sea was calm. Next, it was chaos.

The tsunami screamed toward the town, tearing through the sea with terrifying momentum.

Even the townsfolk, long used to life by the ocean, couldn't fathom how such waves could suddenly rise.

Even after the crest began to drop, the waves approaching Loguetown still stood hundreds of meters high.

Even a tens-of-meters-high tsunami would be enough to destroy half the town, hundreds would be apocalyptic.

The sound of feet running, bodies colliding, people screaming and praying, dozens of sounds mixed into chaos.

But none could drown out the terrifying roar of the sea itself.

At that moment, despair settled over Loguetown.

The wave loomed closer, blotting out the sun and casting the town into a cold, oppressive darkness, like a cloak of death and dread draping over everything.

Some people had already given up hope of escape, standing motionless, eyes fixed on the monstrous force approaching from afar.

"Captain!"

At the port, Tashigi clutched her jacket tightly and looked at Smoker in a panic.

Three cigars hung from Smoker's mouth, clouds of smoke almost completely hiding his face. His expression was fierce, but his eyes betrayed deep worry and fear.

"Damn it! Marines, evacuate the civilians at full speed!!"

The monstrous tsunami didn't pose much danger to him. Even if the sea nullified his Devil Fruit powers, he was confident he could survive.

But…

Tashigi, his subordinates, the people of Loguetown, all of them could die.

Boom!

A burst of white smoke exploded. Without hesitation, Smoker shot into the sky, leaving behind Tashigi's helpless figure, lost in the rising smoke.

High above, Smoker stared down at the towering wave, like a gate to hell being torn open.

He raised both arms, and white smoke erupted from either side of his body.

Can't do it and won't do it, those are two different things.

As Loguetown's commander, his sense of justice wouldn't let him run away.

Within moments, a 100-meter-long wall of smoke appeared in front of the tsunami.

His desire to protect, his unwavering justice, pushed Smoker beyond his limits.

Since being effortlessly defeated by his friend Aokiji, it had been a long time since he'd fought like this.

The wall condensed into ten massive white fists, forming to Smoker's left and right.

They still seemed small in comparison to the waves.

But Smoker's bravery sparked courage in the people of Loguetown.

The city stirred back to life.

Then, the ten fists slammed into the tidal wave.

There was a pause, a tiny delay, as the tsunami's momentum slowed briefly. But then it surged forward again, as if nothing had happened.

"Captain Smoker!!"

Tashigi screamed in panic from the shore.

Sea spray filled the air, soaking Smoker's coat. A cold helplessness seeped into his heart.

"AHHH!!! STOP!!!" he roared at the sky, pushing his powers even further.

More smoke burst from his arms, draining his life force to double the size of the smoke wall.

His already gray-white hair turned even more ashen.

One by one, the white fists pounded the wave, carving out crater after crater.

But in the end, Smoker was no match for nature itself.

The seawater finally engulfed him, nullifying his Devil Fruit powers, and he plummeted powerlessly from the sky.

At that moment, from behind the tsunami, a giant figure emerged, charging toward Smoker's falling body.

"Boooooo~"
