Seth Lowell listened intently to Lucy's description, his expression growing grave—even the long, fluffy tail behind him stiffened subconsciously.
Too horrifying. The man described by this victim was worse than he could've imagined!
A sixteen-hour workday! No pay! And he even took advantage of his beautiful female subordinates!
Such a man must be severely punished—he absolutely couldn't be allowed to roam free and endanger society.
Seth turned to Lucy and said sternly, "Miss Lucy, please describe the suspect's appearance in detail to our sketch artist from the Criminal Investigation Unit. The Public Security will make sure he's arrested as soon as possible!"
"Alright, no problem. I'm willing to cooperate."
Lucy said with great seriousness.
That man wasn't just rotten to the core—he had also left her with a lifelong, incurable black mark of shame. Just thinking about how she'd burped in front of Caesar and the others made her want to die!
"Very well, Miss Lucy, please come with me."
Seth walked ahead to lead the way.
But Lucy stopped in her tracks—she saw two very familiar figures.
A handsome villain in a black trench coat. A silver-haired girl in a fitted black suit acting as his bodyguard!
It was him. It was him. It was him!
Lucy pointed straight at Sol and Anby Demara, shouting loudly, "You two still dare to come back! With so many sheriffs here, I'd like to see how you plan to escape this time!"
Caesar, Burnice, and Piper immediately jumped in shock, instinctively taking up fighting stances, their eyes sharp with vigilance toward Sol and Anby.
"Good morning. You've all been released already, huh?" Sol waved casually, smiling. "No need to get so worked up—we're just here to grab a few things."
"With this many sheriffs around, and you still act this arrogant!?" Lucy pointed furiously at Sol, shouting to Seth beside her, "Sheriff Seth, quickly—call your colleagues to help! These two are extremely dangerous!"
"..."
Seth looked over at Sol and Anby—and immediately his face turned awkward.
At the beginning of this operation, the entire Criminal Investigation Special Response Team had cooperated with these two in the act—only Zhu Yuan and Senior Qingyi had been informed. He alone had been kept in the dark.
He'd made quite a few embarrassing mistakes because of it.
"Well? Issue the order already! Weren't you just saying you'd catch him?"
Lucy said anxiously to Seth.
"That's right, Sheriff! We'll only have a sure chance at victory if we act together!"
Caesar stepped up beside Seth, her tone earnest and resolute.
Without the sheriffs' help, her defeated Sons of Calydon were no match for those two.
That silver-haired girl was incredibly powerful, and that man's gunmanship was godlike!
However, before Seth could respond, Sol's lips curved into a faint smirk. "He won't move—because we're on the same side. Members of the Sons of Calydon, I suggest you give my earlier proposal some thought. As for you, Miss Lucy—have you decided how many children you plan to have?"
"What!"
Lucy was thunderstruck, staring at Seth in disbelief.
This broad-shouldered, thick-browed Maine Thiren—who looked so simple-minded—was actually an undercover agent?!
"W–What!? Impossible! How could a sheriff stoop so low and collude with you!?"
Caesar's indignation flared; she absolutely refused to believe such nonsense.
Sol merely smiled at Seth and asked, "Seth, are we on the same team or not?"
"Well... I suppose we are?"
Seth said awkwardly.
Technically, Sol wasn't a sheriff, but he was a highly reliable partner to the Public Security—so yes, they were indeed on the same team.
"What!"
Caesar and Lucy both sank into despair—as if something inside them had snapped.
"The adult world is just like that," Piper murmured bleakly, "kicking you in the teeth right when you're happiest."
Her expression dimmed; she'd seen through the filth of reality.
This world wasn't black or white—it was a carefully blended gray.
For a moment, the three women felt cornered from all sides. The man alone had already been too much to handle—now that the sheriffs were on his side, there was no hope left.
"Members of the Sons of Calydon—remember to face life with a smile."
Sol lazily took out his phone and recorded the beautiful moment.
At that moment, Burnice beamed and said to Sol, "Make sure I look good in the photo! So, you were undercover all along, huh? I knew you were a good guy!"
"Eh?"
Caesar and Piper blinked in confusion.
Lucy, however, grumbled, "What kind of 'good guy' talks like that? He's scarier than most thugs!"
She'd sooner believe she'd have twins than that this infuriating man was an undercover agent.
Finally, Seth found his chance to speak and quickly explained, "In fact, Mr. Mercer is our undercover ally. Thanks to him, this operation went off without a hitch."
"Eh!?"
"Eh!?"
"Eh!?"
Caesar, Lucy, and Piper each made their own version of the same exaggerated face—joy, embarrassment, and shock blending together in a masterpiece of expression.
Burnice grinned brightly. "Told you so!"

Sol took a photo to immortalize the scene, then introduced himself formally: "I'm Sol Mercer—deputy GOAT of the Cunning Hares, part-time ACE investigator, and occasional contractor for the Public Security."
Anby Demara followed with a mildly defeated tone: "I'm Anby Demara, Agent of the Cunning Hares and Sol's assistant."
She felt a little dejected—not nearly as many titles as Sol.
"You... you... you!" Lucy pointed at Sol in shock. "You're Billy's third boss!?"
She suddenly remembered their first encounter—it was because Billy had tried to greet him that Sol attacked their group, without actually hurting anyone.
No wonder he'd been such a nightmare to deal with—he really was that omnipotent boss Billy had talked about. Handsome, strong...
But did he have to be such a sadist about it!?
Now that she knew Sol was an ally, she honestly wanted to die even more.
"You're from the Cunning Hares!?"
Caesar's shock gave way to a bit of defeat.
Just a few months ago, Billy had mentioned that the Cunning Hares weren't doing well—yet now they were thriving, taking on major Public Security commissions.
She felt like an unworthy leader of the Sons of Calydon.
"So, we're allies, huh? This old lady's too old for these kinds of thrill rides," Piper said, patting her very flat chest in relief.
Meanwhile, Burnice had already sidled up to Sol, chatting with enthusiasm.
With Burnice as the social lubricant, Caesar, Lucy, and Piper managed—though still awkwardly—to converse normally with Sol.
