"I said stop barking. You're disturbing my ears."
Xavier's voice rang out, plunging the inn into utter silence. The place was so silent you could hear a pin drop on the floor. Most of the guests in the inn couldn't believe their ears. He had just insulted a Knight like it was no big deal.
Chris gazed down at the young man who had just casually insulted him and was now sipping water from a cup as if he had done nothing. Chris then bent down, his face levelled with Xavier's, his glare evident.
"Say it again. " He uttered, threatening.
"I already said it," Xavier replied, casually. "I don't need to say it twice."
One of Chris's lackeys barked at him. "You dare to insult a Knight of the baron and think you'll go unpunished. Who the hell do you think you are?"
