At that moment, the system refreshed its message.
[Customer Razor finished reading Tom and Jerry and obtained the reward—Rapid Healing]
[Rapid Healing: The body will instantly heal from normal injuries; in cases of major or fatal injuries, it can still preserve one's life.]
"This ability is actually pretty good… you could call it a life-saving trump card."
Han Feng was quite satisfied with Razor's prize.
Of course, it wasn't as exaggerated as Tom in the cartoons, where no matter what damage he took—even being sliced into every shape imaginable—he could spring back in an instant.
But for ordinary people, even powerful fighters, this was invaluable. After all, who could guarantee they'd never be hurt?
In the original story, if La Signora had this ability, maybe she could've actually survived the Raiden Shogun's Musou no Hitotachi.
Buzz—
A dazzling light enveloped Razor.
Moments later, the glow faded.
Razor felt… different somehow, though he couldn't tell what had changed.
"So this is… the reward that Bennett spoke of?"
Razor tilted his head, curious.
"You've obtained Rapid Healing. It may not be as broken as Tom the cat, but it's still a tremendously powerful skill," Han Feng explained with a smile.
"Rapid… Healing?!"
Razor's eyes lit up.
He immediately drew a small knife and cut his palm.
Such minor wounds were routine for someone like him, who had lived in the wild his whole life.
But this time, within seconds, the wound knit shut completely—without even leaving a scar.
"It… really healed?!"
Razor's eyes were wide with shock.
Normally his injuries healed fast enough, but never this effortlessly. And scars were always inevitable.
Now, nothing.
"Razor likes this ability. Thank you, Boss."
He gave his thanks sincerely.
With this skill, he would never need to worry about injuries again. For someone who fought and hunted daily, it was priceless.
Just then, Bennett finished reading his manga and spotted Razor at the counter.
"Razor, what kind of reward did you get?" he asked eagerly.
"Rapid Healing," Razor grinned, happy to share with his friend.
He was truly grateful—if not for Bennett, he'd never have found this magical bookstore, much less gained such a blessing.
"A healing skill… and so strong at that?!"
Bennett's jaw dropped.
This was every adventurer's dream.
After all, which adventurer didn't get injured? Minor wounds were fine, but serious trauma without immediate treatment was life-threatening.
Bennett himself still hadn't fully recovered from the last time a slime slammed into him.
But with Rapid Healing, that would've been nothing.
"Which manga gave you this?" he asked.
"Tom and Jerry. Tom's ability is stronger… even when cut into ten pieces, he could regenerate."
Razor chuckled, remembering the ridiculous scenes.
If only he could reread it right now…
"Wha—? Even if cut into ten pieces, he comes back?!"
Bennett shivered.
What kind of monster cat was that?!
He made up his mind on the spot: tomorrow, he had to read it.
Then he turned to the counter.
"Boss Han, I've finished too. What reward do I get?"
If he could gain Ryuuguuin Seiya's cautious mindset—or even some of his insane power—that'd be perfect.
Han Feng glanced at the system.
The message refreshed:
[Customer Bennett finished reading Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overpowered but Overly Cautious and obtained the reward—Healing Magic.]
[Healing Magic: The power of the healing goddess Ristarte. Effectiveness is questionable prior to Order (Divine Realm Special Execution Protocol).]
"As expected of Bennett…"
Han Feng sighed helplessly.
Out of all the amazing characters and abilities in that manga—not to mention the protagonist and the gods—Bennett somehow drew this.
Even supporting characters like Mash the dragonkin warrior would've been better.
Buzz—
A brilliant glow enveloped Bennett.
Moments later, it faded.
"Well? What did you get?" Razor asked curiously.
"…Looks like… another healing ability," Bennett said, face twisting oddly.
"Good. Healing… useful for you!" Razor nodded sincerely.
Yet Bennett's face was gloomy.
"Boss Han… is this really that goddess's healing power?"
"Yes," Han Feng confirmed with sympathy.
Bennett's heart sank.
In the manga, Goddess Ristarte's healing wasn't even as effective as herbs—an embarrassment to the gods themselves.
That's why Seiya always called her the "Useless Goddess."
But wait—!
Bennett suddenly recalled the final scene.
When Seiya was gravely wounded, Ristarte had unleashed astonishing healing power.
Didn't that mean he could too?
Excited, he quickly asked Han Feng.
"In principle, yes. But remember, she was punished by the gods afterward," Han Feng said, shaking his head.
"This is Teyvat, not the Divine Realm. The gods here can't interfere… right?" Bennett forced a laugh.
"You could always… try it."
Han Feng gave him a mysterious smile.
For others, it might be fine.
But for Bennett… who knew?
Bennett: (⊙_⊙)
…Better not.
He decided to keep it as a last-resort trump card, like his Random Skill Card.
Still, the contrast stung.
Razor got a healing skill that preserved life even from fatal wounds.
He… got something weaker than herbs, with hidden risks if fully unleashed.
The gap was painful.
"Razor, let's head to Wagner the blacksmith."
"Go there… why?" Razor tilted his head.
Bennett drew a deep breath, then declared solemnly:
"I'm going to forge three sets of armor. One to wear, one as backup, and one as backup for the backup!"
And with that, he strode toward the door.
Razor: (⊙_⊙)
What the…?
Too much money to spend?
Who in their right mind forges three sets of armor?!
Still, he followed after his friend.
"Three sets of armor, huh? Noelle's reward really would've suited him," Han Feng chuckled, sipping his tea.
Meanwhile, outside Mondstadt—
Yanfei and Xiangling finally arrived.
"Whew, I'm exhausted. If it weren't for Mondstadt's food, I'd never have come."
Xiangling flopped down on the grass, letting out a long breath.
"Later, Eula's definitely treating us to a feast! And you too—let's eat her into bankruptcy."
Yanfei pumped her fist playfully.
"That's not very nice…"
Xiangling fidgeted.
She didn't even know Eula—asking for a meal was already a stretch.
Besides, her appetite was huge. What if she really did eat Eula broke?
"You're right," Yanfei tapped her lips in thought. Then she grinned. "How about this—make her take us to that so-called manga shop instead. Let's see how she wriggles out of it."
"Hehe, I like that idea!" Xiangling beamed.
After all, they both thought the manga shop was just something Eula had made up.
No way she could actually take them there.
That scene would be priceless.
"Come on, let's go find her in Mondstadt—huh? Is that her over there?!"
Yanfei suddenly pointed.
A familiar blue figure wasn't far away.
They had just been talking about her, and here she was already. What timing!
And it looked like she was… fighting Hilichurls?
But her movements… why did they look so weird?
Almost… glitchy?
