The impact felt like being hit by a freight train. Akaza flew through the dense forest, trees snapping like twigs around him, until he finally slammed into the base of a small cliff, the rock groaning under the force. He slid down, landing in a heap amidst the splintered wood and upturned earth, his ears ringing.

Strong… but different, he thought, pushing himself up, his enhanced durability already mitigating the worst of the blow. He spat out a mouthful of dirt and blood. His arms, which had taken the brunt of the hit, ached, but nothing felt broken. Faster than the USJ Nomu. Much faster. But the raw power… it's less.

He activated Compass Needle, the familiar blue pattern flaring briefly under him, extending his senses. The overwhelming battle spirit that had blindsided him was rapidly approaching again. It wasn't the mindless, lumbering presence of the creature designed to kill All Might. This one felt… focused. Aware.

Through the trees, it emerged. It was leaner than the USJ Nomu, its musculature less bulky, more like a sprinter's than a bodybuilder's. Its skin was the same dark, rough hide, and its brain was exposed, but its eyes… its eyes weren't vacant. They held a disturbing glint of intelligence, tracking Akaza's movements with predatory focus.

So, they accounted for my speed, Akaza surmised. They sent something that could potentially keep up.

The Nomu didn't roar. It moved. In a blur that rivaled Akaza's own Soru, it closed the distance, its fist aimed not at his head, but low, towards his center of gravity, a surprisingly tactical strike.

Akaza reacted instantly, flowing into the stance of the Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist. He didn't meet the blow head-on. He pivoted, using Nomu's own momentum, redirecting the punch past his body with an open palm strike that simultaneously nudged the creature off balance.

It's learning, the Nomu seemed to think, its intelligent eyes narrowing. It didn't stumble. It used the redirected momentum to spin, launching a back-kick aimed at Akaza's ribs.

Akaza used Soru to evade, reappearing a few meters away. The Nomu was already turning, anticipating his reappearance. It opened its mouth, and instead of a roar, a high-frequency sonic pulse erupted, aimed not to injure, but to disorient.

Akaza felt the pressure wave hit him, a jarring vibration that rattled his skull. He grit his teeth, pushing through the momentary disorientation. This Nomu was smart. It was using tactics, trying to create openings.

"You're faster," Akaza stated, wiping a trickle of blood from his lip. "But speed isn't everything."

He launched forward, initiating the attack this time. He closed the distance with Soru, leading with a feint, a right hook aimed high, then dropping low, driving a shockwave-infused fist (Air Type) towards the Nomu's knee joint.

The Nomu reacted with incredible speed, retracting its leg just enough for the shockwave to glance off its tough hide, causing minimal damage. It countered immediately, its long arm extending with unnatural elasticity, trying to grab Akaza.

Akaza flowed backwards, using Geppo to kick off the air and gain height, avoiding the grab. From above, he rained down a series of Air Type shockwaves, targeting the Nomu's exposed brain.

The Nomu didn't just tank the hits. It moved. It ducked, weaved, and even used its arms to parry the blasts, its movements economical and precise. It was like fighting a highly trained martial artist combined with a biological speed quirk.

This is interesting, Akaza thought, a cold grin touching his lips. A real challenge.

He landed softly, and they began to exchange blows in earnest. It was a terrifying dance of speed and power. Akaza's fists, guided by Compass Needle and flowing with the Water Stream principles, deflected and redirected the Nomu's lightning-fast strikes. The Nomu, in turn, anticipated Akaza's counters, adapting its attack patterns, sometimes throwing jabs, other times using sweeping kicks or attempting grappling maneuvers.

Akaza used Destructive Death: Disorder, unleashing a flurry of shockwave punches that created a defensive barrier. The Nomu didn't try to punch through it; instead, it leaped over the barrier, using the top edge as a springboard to launch a diving attack.

Akaza rolled out of the way, the Nomu's fist cratering the ground where he had been. He came up into a low stance, his hands weaving complex patterns. The Nomu charged again, but Akaza met it with fluidity, redirecting its arm, spinning under its guard, and landing a solid Air Type shockwave directly into its ribs.

The Nomu staggered back, clutching its side. It let out a low hiss, and the damaged area visibly began to regenerate, though slower than the USJ Nomu's regeneration.

Less power, slower healing, but faster and smarter, Akaza analyzed. A different kind of threat.

He decided to press his advantage. Using Tempest, he became a near-invisible blur, attacking the Nomu from multiple angles simultaneously. His gauntleted fists hammered against its hide, each blow carrying the force of a sledgehammer, amplified by his speed and shockwaves. He targeted joints, weak points, and the exposed brain.

The Nomu struggled to keep up. It was fast, but Akaza's Tempest was on another level. It managed to land glancing blows, its intelligent eyes tracking Akaza's impossible movements, but it couldn't stop the relentless assault. Cracks began to appear on its dark skin. Its movements grew slightly slower, its regeneration unable to keep pace with the damage.

Akaza created distance again, landing lightly on the forest floor. He drew both his arms back, channeling power. The Nomu, sensing the danger, braced itself, its muscles coiling.

Destructive Death: Annihilation Type!

Akaza thrust his palms forward, unleashing the dome of pure shockwave energy. The Nomu met it with a desperate, two-handed block, its arms straining against the immense pressure. The ground beneath it cracked, and the trees behind it were flattened by the sheer force. But it held. Barely.

Its arms were mangled, regenerating slowly, but it was still standing. It glared at Akaza, a new level of fury in its intelligent eyes. It opened its mouth again, preparing another sonic attack.

Akaza smirked. Predictable.

Before the sound could erupt, he used Soru one last time. He appeared directly in front of the staggered Nomu, his fist drawn back.

Destructive Death: Twin Impact.

He drove his fists into the Nomu's chest. This time, he didn't hold back the internal destruction. A devastating pulse of focused shockwave energy shot directly into the creature's core, bypassing its tough exterior.

The Nomu froze. Its eyes went wide, not with pain, but with a sudden, blank incomprehension. A network of blue cracks spread across its chest from the point of impact. Then, with a faint, internal pop, it simply… disintegrated. Its body dissolved into fine, black dust that scattered in the wind, leaving nothing behind.

Akaza stood in the now-silent clearing, breathing steadily. The fight had been intense, pushing his speed and technique, but he hadn't felt truly overwhelmed. His body, fully adapted from the USJ incident, had handled the Nomu's speed and power with relative ease.

They must not have accounted for how much stronger I got, he thought. Sending this thing after me… it was fast, smart, but ultimately, not strong enough. Not anymore.

Then, a cold dread washed over him, a sudden, sickening realization that hit him harder than the Nomu's first punch.

Why send just one? Why send it after me, specifically?

This Nomu… it wasn't meant to win. It couldn't have been.

It was a distraction.

They had sent a specialized unit, fast and smart enough to keep him occupied, to draw him away from the others. While he was fighting here, alone…

Rumi.

His blood ran cold. The image of her terrified scream as he was punched away flashed in his mind. The other villains Dabi had brought…

He didn't hesitate. Shock Pulse: Tempest.

His body erupted in blue energy. With a sound like tearing thunder, he shot back the way he came, moving faster than he ever had before. Trees blurred into streaks of green and brown. The forest floor became a suggestion beneath his feet as he kicked off the air itself, propelled by raw power and sheer fear for the girl he loved. He tore his way back through the ruined path he had created, needing to get back. Now.

(Cut back to the moment immediately after Akaza was sent flying)

"AKAZA!" Rumi's scream was filled with terror.

She moved, a white blur aiming for the path of destruction Akaza had carved through the forest. But before she could take more than a single step, a wall of blue fire erupted in front of her, cutting her off, forcing her and the rest of the class back with its intense heat.

Dabi stood nonchalantly on the other side of the flames, his hands in his pockets. "Now, now. Don't want to interrupt their little reunion, do we?"

From the trees, the other villains emerged, blocking any path of retreat or pursuit. Moonfish landed with a metallic skittering sound, his body contorting as blade-like teeth extended from his masked face, writhing like metallic snakes. "Flesh... Must cut flesh..." he hissed, his eyes darting between the students.

Muscular dropped heavily to the ground, flexing his arms, layers of crimson muscle fibers rippling and expanding over his body. He cracked his knuckles, a wide, sadistic grin splitting his face beneath his mask. "Looks like some juicy targets showed up! Time to play!"

The students of Class 1-A found themselves trapped. Separated from their strongest classmate, surrounded by villains whose bloodlust was chillingly apparent.

Dabi's lazy gaze swept over the main group huddled together: Iida, Uraraka, Kirishima, Sero, Kaminari, Jiro, Asui, Toru, and Sato. His eyes held no malice, only a cold indifference. "Don't try anything stupid, and maybe you'll live," he said, the blue flames dancing idly at his fingertips.

Meanwhile, the other two villains had chosen their targets.

Moonfish, with his grotesque, bladed teeth lashing out, advanced on the group nearest the forest edge: Tokoyami, Shoto, Izuku, and Bakugo. Dark Shadow surged, trying to form a defense. Shoto prepared a wall of ice. Izuku activated Full Cowling. Bakugo's palms crackled.

On the other side of the clearing, Muscular locked eyes with the remaining three girls, standing protectively near the injured Kota, who had been quietly following the class and had witnessed the strength of these villains.

Momo Yaoyorozu, Mina Ashido, and Rumi Usagiyama stood their ground, facing down a mountain of raw, deadly power. Rumi's knuckles were white, her eyes burning with a furious terror aimed solely at the man blocking her path back to Akaza.

The training camp had become a hunting ground. But the class was determined to overcome this challenge.
