Chapter 431 - Chapter 431 – For the Greater Good, Danzo… You Must Die

Danzo tore off his upper garments, exposing his chest.

He had already accepted death.

The only regret—

He wouldn't be able to personally tell Hiruzen Sarutobi that he was a coward.

That he had chosen to die for Konoha even earlier than him.

Staring at Fox, Danzo thought bitterly—

A moment of hesitation…

Had nurtured a monster.

And Sarutobi Shinnosuke was useless too.

He couldn't even see that someone under him harbored ulterior motives.

Fox had mastered Flying Thunder God.

Danzo's Wind Release—

Had no chance to be used.

Fortunately…

The destruction of the Uzumaki Clan still left him with one final trump card—

A move meant to take the enemy down with him.

The moment he discarded his clothes—

A figure appeared instantly.

A kunai flashed.

His throat was slit open.

Danzo's eyes widened.

Fast—

Too fast…

His body faded—

He activated Izanagi, rewriting reality and disappearing.

Out of four Sharingan—

The third eye turned gray.

Yakō immediately turned his head, searching.

Danzo reappeared in the distance, forming hand seals rapidly.

A massive summoning appeared before him—

A grotesque beast:

Baku (Dream Eater).

Yakō didn't stop.

Flying Thunder God again—

He appeared right in front of Danzo, aiming to destroy another eye in one clean strike.

But suddenly—

His movement halted.

He stood between Danzo and the Baku.

Behind him—

The Baku opened its enormous mouth.

A vortex formed—

A black-hole-like wind erupted, dragging Yakō backward.

That slight pull—

Just a few centimeters—

Was enough.

His kunai missed.

And that single missed strike—

Gave Danzo time to activate his final move.

On Danzo's chest—

A sealing formula spread.

Reverse Four Symbols Sealing.

His eyes filled with grim triumph.

Forward—

Fox would be sealed.

Backward—

He'd be swallowed.

And if he tried Flying Thunder God—

The kunai on the ground were already being sucked into the Baku.

Danzo knew Flying Thunder God too well.

Every path—

Was death.

Yakō's heart tightened.

He could escape.

If he used Wood Release—

The Baku wouldn't be a problem.

But—

This was the assassination of a high-ranking Konoha advisor.

Using Wood Release here…

Would be too blatant.

Then—

A voice rang out.

"Strength of a Hundred Seal — Release!"

Tsunade appeared at the perfect moment.

Her fist smashed into the ground.

BOOM!

The earth shattered for over a hundred meters.

The ground beneath Danzo flipped violently.

The Baku staggered.

The entire formation collapsed.

In that instant—

Yakō gained just enough time.

Flying Thunder God—

He vanished.

Danzo's perfectly calculated trap—

Was destroyed.

SHUNK!

A scythe pierced through Danzo's body from behind—

From his back—

Out through his chest.

Blood sprayed violently.

Danzo turned slightly—

Fox had already vanished using Water Body Flicker.

Water Body Flicker…

This was Hanzō's signature technique.

Danzo's mind raced—

Had Fox allied with Hanzō?

Why would Hanzō betray him?

Why—

Then—

He looked down.

All the Sharingan on his arm—

Had turned gray.

No more Izanagi.

No more chances.

Rain fell steadily.

Tsunade stood there, soaked—

Her voice trembling:

"Danzo… tell me."

"Nawaki… wasn't killed by Iwagakure… was he?"

"You… had him killed, didn't you?"

Danzo said nothing.

He turned to Yakō instead.

"Fox. Senju Yakō."

"I thought you had some intelligence."

"You should understand the bigger picture."

"Some truths… must remain hidden."

"You told Tsunade?"

"Do you want Konoha to split apart?"

"Do you want to destroy Konoha?"

"Have you considered what happens if the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki loses control inside the village?"

Yakō replied calmly:

"Danzo…"

"You've committed every evil imaginable."

"And yet you demand others to consider the bigger picture."

"Why is it always others?"

"Why not you?"

"You decide what 'the greater good' is?"

"Then I'll use it too."

"For Konoha's greater good—"

"Danzo… you should die."

Danzo's gaze turned cold.

"The Uzumaki Clan had to fall."

"Otherwise, Kushina would never have become Konoha's Nine-Tails Jinchūriki."

"From Konoha's perspective—"

"Their destruction was necessary."

"I have no regrets."

"As for Nawaki…"

"He dreamed of becoming Hokage."

"He represented the continuation of the Senju legacy."

"If he learned the truth—"

"Who knows what he would've done?"

"I killed him."

"And I regret nothing."

He laughed bitterly.

"still not enough…"

"If I kill both of you—"

"Only then I would have no regrets!"

Tsunade's expression changed—

From disbelief…

To collapse…

To stillness.

Danzo moved.

Despite his fatal wounds—

He rushed forward.

But after a few steps—

He faltered.

Stumbled.

The scythe embedded in his body—

Heavy, sharp—

Not Hanzō's.

This was Madara Uchiha's weapon.

Each movement tore him open further.

Yakō and Tsunade leapt back simultaneously.

Tsunade, empowered by her seal, jumped over a hundred meters.

Yakō moved even faster.

Danzo collapsed to his knees.

Sliding forward—

But stopping far short.

Ink erupted from his body—

The Reverse Four Symbols Seal activated.

But in that final moment—

He realized.

It was meaningless.

He could only seal—

Himself.

The scythe.

A shallow crater.

And the rain.

Yakō stood at the edge of the sealing crater.

"Danzo died together with Madara's scythe."

"From now on… no Uchiha will have that scythe."

"A fitting end."

"When Madara comes back, I'll make sure to tell him—"

"You destroyed his weapon."

Tsunade stared at the crater.

After a long silence, she asked:

"You knew… didn't you?"

"About Nawaki?"

Yakō nodded.

"Danzo gave the order."

"Yellow Dog set the explosive trap."

"Even Orochimaru didn't notice it."

Tsunade raised her hand.

Covering her face—

Rain and tears mixed together.

Her shoulders trembled.

She began to cry.

Yakō stepped forward.

Gently pressed her head against his shoulder.

"It's over, Princess Tsunade."

"Yellow Dog is dead."

"Danzo is dead."

After a long time—

She lifted her head.

Her eyes red.

"Is it really over?"

"Did Hiruzen know?"

Yakō shook his head slightly.

"Even if you ask him…"

"He'll say he didn't."

Tsunade's eyes filled with sorrow.

A deep, quiet grief.

A village she once loved—

Had become something else entirely.

And she could no longer recognize it.
