Standing before the villa district where Saburo Arasaka might be hiding, Satou Kazuma crouched beside a garbage can in a corner, elbows on knees, staring with grim focus at the estate beyond.
"Satou-kun…" Yorinobu Arasaka asked him cautiously, "Is there some kind of problem?"
"Just call me Kazuma," Kazuma replied awkwardly. "It's weird when a serious middle-aged guy like you calls me 'Satou-kun' like that!"
"…You're not saying you can't handle this, are you?" V shot him a skeptical look. "Could it be... you're actually the weakest among your group?"
"!"
Kazuma's eyes went wide. "I am NOT the weakest! I've got loads of unique skills!"
"I'm just thinking about our next move, that's all!" he insisted. "It's not like I'm someone like Joseph, who can just wave his hand and use a Stand to hack all the electronics—"
"Fine! I'll show you the full power of Satou Kazuma!"
Declaring nobly, Kazuma then immediately activated Stealth—and proceeded to march boldly into the villa district with V and Yorinobu in tow...
"…So you still went with your weird ability," V deadpanned. "How the hell does that even work?"
"This is the result of my blood, sweat, and tears!" Kazuma said proudly without a shred of shame. "I worked really hard to reach this level, you know!"
Strolling straight in with no resistance, Kazuma led the two around the outer perimeter, evading the heavily armed security drones without issue.
"…Why the hell are you carrying a bow?" V asked, clearly bewildered by the massive longbow slung over Kazuma's back. "I thought we were gonna bust in guns blazing."
"Why would we do something so troublesome?!" Kazuma shot back. "This isn't some hot-blooded anime arc! If we can sneak in, we should sneak in! What if Saburo Arasaka escapes, huh?!"
"…Is this magic?" Yorinobu asked, watching the patrol bots walk right past them, completely unaware of their presence. "I bet even Saburo never imagined he'd be facing enemies like this."
"…I know this isn't my place to say, but are you really going to kill Saburo Arasaka, just like your future said?" Kazuma looked at Yorinobu curiously. "Not saying it's wrong—but he is your dad. Should we just plant a bomb and be done with it?"
"I'm going to make Saburo see that everything he's done is just a twisted delusion," Yorinobu replied. "Even if I kill him now, Arasaka Corp won't go down easily… He's still got backups stored in Mikoshi."
"And I know that if I kill him… Hanako, and even my elder brother's daughter, will all stand against me. But I don't care."
Yorinobu continued, "What Hanako has done is wrong."
"She shouldn't see Saburo as her father! That bastard never once treated us like his children. To him, we've always been tools."
"She may not be completely on his side, but right now… I can't afford to hesitate."
"Her silence only serves to enable that demon. I have to stop her!"
"That's why… I'll kill Saburo Arasaka with my own hands!"
"…Well, I was gonna help you do it, but it sounds like this one's personal," V muttered, scratching his head. "I'll handle Hanako. I won't let her get in your way."
"Guess I'll go deal with Goro Takemura?" Kazuma scratched his head. "Still gotta figure out how to neutralize the security system without alerting the guards… If only Joseph were here, he could just hack the whole compound."
While Kazuma rambled, Lucy had arrived near the villa's perimeter on her motorcycle, looking a little worse for wear.
She knew that infiltrating this estate came with incredible risk.
But this might be her best—and only—chance to reach the heart of Arasaka's evil: Saburo Arasaka himself.
"…Let's gamble."
Biting her lip and thinking of David, Lucy connected her neural interface into the estate's signal system.
Then… she grabbed a case she'd scavenged along the way off her bike—and poured the ice inside all over her body.
This was all she could do to suppress the overload.
Linking into Saburo Arasaka's estate's signal—even just dipping in—could fry her brain. But Lucy took the risk anyway.
Back inside the villa, Kazuma had—under Yorinobu's guidance—arrived at the main system control room, where several of Arasaka Corp's top-tier netrunners were actively maintaining the villa's defenses.
Each one of these netrunners alone was powerful enough to guard a corporate high-rise. Now they were all concentrated in this one villa.
Just as Lucy began hacking into the system, one of the netrunners immediately noticed.
"…What little rat dares poke around in here?"
As the hacker prepared to trace and burn Lucy's consciousness from the inside—
WHAM!
A brutal punch from the real world interrupted him before he could act.
"Ha! Take this—Kazuma-san's Straight Right Smash!!!"
Inside the estate's security center, Satou Kazuma began beating the cyber-augmented elite netrunners to a pulp.
