Chapter 183 - What Would You Do?

In London's Chinatown, at the Red Star Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic, Jiang Honggen was leisurely sitting in his office, drinking his afternoon tea. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows in a corner and spoke to the man with his back to him.

"Elder Jiang, we have found all the information on Victor Dreyar," the figure said, handing over a report.

Jiang Honggen took the report and began to read it as the voice behind him provided a summary. "Victor Dreyar, male, 13 years old. His parents are unknown. He was adopted by a middle-class family in London and is currently a third-year student at Europe's oldest magical school, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

"Victor Dreyar was not very well known before he entered Hogwarts. However, in June 1992, he gained great notoriety after it was revealed he had received the legacy of Rowena Ravenclaw."

"In September 1992, Dreyar suddenly founded a student organization at Hogwarts called the Fairy Tail Guild and recruited a number of outstanding young students."

"In January 1993, Victor Dreyar received the legacy of Salazar Slytherin. At the same time, he and another Hogwarts student announced their discovery of a new magical creature called the Moon Frog, earning him a Second Class Order of Merlin."

"Three months ago, Victor Dreyar was the host of a large-scale wizarding duel tournament at Hogwarts and led his Fairy Tail Guild to a complete victory."

"And just a few days ago, he led the members of his organization to successfully eliminate a group of dark creatures known as Dementors, further solidifying his fame and reputation..."

As Jiang Honggen listened to the summary of Victor's life, he read the detailed report in his hands, growing more and more shocked.

"He's only thirteen years old..." Jiang Honggen touched his beard, looking thoughtful. "When I was thirteen, I was just a child soldier under the Old General, but this Victor Dreyar... he seems to have an unusual way of thinking and acting." He then turned his head. "Xuan Yun, what were you doing when you were thirteen?"

"Thirteen... When I was thirteen, my master threw me into an iron cage to fight a grizzly bear!" The young man named Xuan Yun suddenly recalled some unpleasant memories. A black mark appeared on his forehead, and he said resentfully. But he quickly returned to his serious demeanor, continuing the previous topic.

"Elder Jiang, Victor Dreyar is a very unique individual. He grew up in a Western family and received a Western education, but his ideals are surprisingly similar to those of our people. In less than two years, he has used public opinion to launch a major attack on the deeply ingrained pure-blood theory in the Western wizarding world."

"According to our investigators, Victor Dreyar has almost complete control over the public narrative in the British wizarding world. The Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge, was almost forced out of office by him."

"Based on this report, his methods are still a bit immature," Jiang Honggen said, putting down the report. "That's only because the Western wizarding world is so isolated from the rest of the world and has been for so long that they don't understand politics. If he did this in the Muggle world, someone with no foundation like him would have been eliminated long ago."

"What should we do next?" Xuan Yun asked.

"Any news from Kunlun?"

"There was an anomaly there a month ago, but we're still investigating the specific cause..."

"A month ago?!" Jiang Honggen froze for a moment. "That coincides with the day Victor Dreyar was injured and came to see me!" He then calculated and came to a conclusion.

"Is there another entrance to that place here in the West?" Xuan Yun asked, also surprised.

"That's impossible! If there were, the entire world would have been in chaos by now." Jiang Honggen shook his head, denying the possibility. "But even if we don't know what's going on, it's clear that Victor Dreyar is a special person, and he might have some unknown connection to our home." He gently tapped his fingers on the table and fell into deep thought.

A moment later, Jiang Honggen continued. "Xuan Yun. The higher-ups have been in talks with the International Confederation of Wizards recently, haven't they? Write a report and see if we can organize an official exchange or visit."

"Understood. I'll get to it right away," Xuan Yun replied. He took two steps back and merged back into the shadows.

Feeling the absence of the person behind him, Jiang Honggen sighed and looked out the window at the bright sunlight. "Oh, my. When will this old man get to retire?"

Knock! Knock! Knock!

Just then, a knock came from the door, followed by a familiar voice. "Elder Jiang, you have a patient," the receptionist said from outside the door.

"Alright, come in."

And so, Jiang Honggen went back to his daily routine of helping the sick and wounded.

Time flew by, and before they knew it, it was October. Hogwarts was starting to feel the chill of winter.

In the Fairy Tail Guild, Ron looked at Harry, who was constantly comparing the contents of the diary in front of him and writing on a piece of paper. Ron couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy.

"Harry, it's been over a month. You've almost worn out your mother's diary! Haven't you found anything?"

"There must be another secret behind my parents' death," Harry said with a frown, looking annoyed. "I want to find the truth, but I don't know where to start."

"The logic behind Sirius Black's betrayal and his escape from Azkaban just doesn't add up!"

"The Guild Master once told us that if we can't figure something out, we should go back to the source. But the logic of this whole thing is wrong. I can only move the investigation timeline further back and try to find some clues in my mother's diary."

"And have you found anything?" Ron asked curiously.

"I found some, but they're not useful," Harry replied, then opened the diary to a marked page and pointed to a blacked-out section. "These blacked-out parts appear more than a dozen times. From the context, it seems to be a friend of my mother's, and a Slytherin at that!"

"Can you figure out who it is?" Ron asked.

"If I could, I wouldn't be sitting here," Harry said, slumping into his chair, looking defeated.

"I think you should ask the Guild Master for help," Ron suggested. "If you keep going like this, you'll never find anything."

"..." Harry fell silent, at a loss for words.

To be honest, he didn't want to trouble Victor. He felt that since this matter concerned his deceased parents, he, as their son, should solve it on his own. But after a month of investigating, he hadn't found anything. If he continued like this, he didn't know how long it would take.

After a moment of thought, he finally made up his mind. Harry stood up, took the diary, and walked out.

He found Victor studying a Dementor. Harry hesitated for a moment before saying, "Master, there's something I need your help with."

"What, you've been investigating for over a month and found nothing, and you finally came to me for help?" Victor didn't even look up. He was using a knife, condensed from the power of a Patronus Charm, to carefully cut a piece of the Dementor's cloak.

"Master, I've listed all the clues I've found, and I think there might be another story behind my parents' death," Harry said, ignoring Victor's teasing tone and talking about his findings over the last three months.

"That's all? Nothing else?" Victor put the piece of Dementor cloak into a glass bottle and asked.

"No... no, that's it..." Harry replied weakly.

"Hmph." Victor put away the bottle and suddenly sneered. "Everyone says that Sirius Black broke out of Azkaban to kill you, but that day in Dufftown, from the moment you saw him, you knew that the rumors weren't true."

"Master, you knew!" Harry's eyes widened, his shock beyond measure.

"I know a lot of things, Harry," Victor said, turning around, his face suddenly expressionless. "The reason I didn't just capture Sirius that day was because I wanted to see what you would do."

"Wh... why?" Harry was a little confused.

"Because I realized that you didn't learn your lesson from your first year!" Victor explained. "Two years ago, you, Ron, and Hermione ignored my advice and foolishly went down to the dungeons to protect the so-called Philosopher's Stone, which almost caused a great disaster."

"A month ago, you faced a dangerous fugitive. Even though he didn't kill you, which raised a lot of questions in your mind, you foolishly hid it from everyone again, trying to solve it yourself."

"Harry, let me ask you: What if you find nothing in the end, and the conclusion that Sirius Black is your parents' killer can't be changed?"

"What would you do then?"
