Chapter 1 - Apartment

Shinra silently walked out of the small studio apartment he rented and walked towards the car of the window, Mizuki Arai. She wore a simple retro style suit like an old butler, yet she was only 32.

"Shrina-sama, the cursed spirit is on the second floor."

Shrina stopped and slowly turned back to face Mizuki.

"The curse is on the floor of my apartment complex?"

"Yes, Shinra-sama."

"Hmm. I think I'll take teacher Yaga's advice and move into the campus dorms."

Shinra glanced at Mizuki for a moment and made note of the small bar which hung above her head that only he could see. His cursed technique: Pressure Point allowed him to see them above peoples heads as naturally as one opens their eyes in the morning. It was similar to a health bar in game, except it measured stress levels.

"Oh right, are there any new first years this year?"

"Yes Shinra-sama, do you know that Blessed Child of the Gojo clan?" Mizuki answered.

"Ah, Satoru Gojo.. is he a first year this year already?"

'Hmm, it seems I finally recognize someone in this world from my past life.'

Shinra had lived in this world for 21 years and at first he thought it was a normal parallel world. But this changed after he saw his first cursed spirit. He realized he might have traveled into the world of Jujutsu Kaisen from his past life. Unfortunately, he was never an a big fan and only watched the first few episodes of the anime before stopping. His knowledge is mostly related to memes and basic information.

The first good news about his rebirth in this world is the fact that his death and rebirth produced a significant amount of cursed energy. You could say that he was equivalent to 0.75 Gojo Satoru's. He would know, he checked when he once crossed paths with him during some minor exorcism missions. The second good news, was that he was born with an innate technique. And lastly, he retained a game item he customized with cheat engine when he planned to play through an RPG. It was a consumable item and he had already used it. Sadly, it didn't affect his cursed technique, energy, or any other potential he had as a sorcerer. Instead it boosted his base talent and 'human stats' to the maximum. He could say he was the most talented human in the current age just from this cheat.

But just because he had a maxed out talent stat didn't mean he was a super genius that ran himself ragged inventing next generation technologies or something. He wouldn't be a slave to his own stats and he was a strong advocate for free will. He would do as he pleased according to his own heart and his talent would only exist to do what his heart commands.

Since that was the case... he decided to lean into psychology, become a part time doctor, as well as write some books on the side. But he was mostly into writing detective novels or utilizing his degrees in general practice of medicine and psychology to build convincing characters in his books. Sadly, his writing seems to be a bit under appreciated in this era and not many enjoy his writing.

But he had plenty of time to improve his skills to meet market demand. After all, he was still a 3rd year student at Tokyo Jujutsu Vocational College.

Shinra watched the scenery around him darken as the familiar feeling of cursed energy filled the air. It felt was a cold slimy shock filling his nose like a cheap moldy cigarette smoke.

"I hate the smell of this place already. It's hard to believe this was my neighbor only a few floors down from me."

*Click*

He unlocked the problematic apartment with the master key and glanced inside. The apartment was filthy with trash scattered around the floor. Old plastic bottles lay across the stained carpet and a single TV filled with static was playing in the room. As the only source of light, it cast an even gloomier feeling onto the room itself.

'Is this one of those that hide?' Shinra narrowed his eyes, thinking it was going to be troublesome.

But soon, his eyes relaxed as he saw the unintelligent cursed spirit slither across the ceiling. It was a caterpiller-like thing with small round segments of human faces groaning.

"I-I'll do it to-morrow~"

"Disgusting" Shinra's face cringed in absolute disgust.

He really hated how abstract these cursed spirits could be.

Wanting to end this quickly, he reinforced his legs with cursed energy and jumped up.

"[Pressure Point: Stress]"

His cursed technique enhanced his fingers and his vision lit up with different points in gold for him to strike.

*Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab* *Stab*

His arms moved quickly as he poked the points along the spirits body. Each time he did, he could see the 'bar' above its head grow as its stress reached a limit. Thankfully, since it wasn't intelligent, as soon as the bar maxed out it immediately let out a screech and collapsed inward on itself.

"Done. Thankfully, the second stress bar for sanity collapse doesn't show up after the first one for this low-grade curses."

*Clutter*

His legs landed in some empty water bottles cluttered on the floor. He said nothing and quickly hurried to leave the room.

"Shinra-sama, thank you for your hard work!" Mizuki bowed in thanks.

Shinra could read her emotions through her micro expressions and reference the stress bar above her head.

She was relieved and most likely had a good impression of this 21 year old doctor/psychologist that was forced to attend the vocational college.

"No problem, Mizuki. But please, mention to the higher ups that even though I agreed to enter the sorcerer world and attend their college. I will not be a main combat force."

Mizuki nodded with ease.

"Rest assured, Shinra-sama. The higher ups know about your technique and RCT abilities. They told me to tell you, your special grade application will be approved according to the agreement you signed with them."

'Hmm, they better keep their word. Those scheming old men, I know exactly what kind of hidden thoughts you have in your hearts.'
