Chapter 252 - Chapter 252: Names Written in Blue

You didn't need much imagination to grasp how frightening that clan was. And now, they had arrived early in this world.

Each of them carried monstrous chakra and alien abilities—and through the Wedge, Neji had drawn a sliver of that power. Freshly awakened, he could use only a fraction—two layers out of ten, if you put it on a scale—but even that was terrifying.

His eyes deepened from white to blue. What he saw—and what he could command—was no longer the same as an ordinary White Eye.

The White Eye can watch one space at one moment—piercing walls, tracking chakra, taking in a full circle at once. The Pure Eye can seize the very space, spin anything within it, and hurl it like a star.

To the crowd it felt like one or two seconds. In truth, Neji and Mangetsu had already traded a long string of invisible moves.

A brittle chorus snapped the tension—tens of thousands of kunai cracked down the center, shear-lines racing from tip to hilt. The fragments powdered a beat later.

The fog sloughed away. Mangetsu stepped out, sharp and lethal. His gaze darkened on Neji, a quiet promise of murder.

Words rolled from his tongue as his hands blurred—then a vast water dragon roared from behind him and plunged for Neji.

Neji didn't flinch. The instant the dragon kissed the spot he'd occupied, he was elsewhere, space flipping like a page.

Watching from before the Divine Tree, Kaede stilled. He had a sense of what the Pure Eye could do. Legend called it the "weakest" of the White Eye's purifications, shackled to cruel conditions: the purest White Eye joined with that clan's chakra.

Neji's White Eye wasn't the most exalted within his family—but his talent eclipsed almost all. Had he not been born to the branch line, he would have soared higher still.

"He's a vessel now," Kaguya said, face tight as her gaze settled on Neji. "He carries the blue Samsara Eye."

Blue Samsara Eye?

Kaede focused on Neji, calling up data in his mind's system. Of the clan, only two recorded bearers ever showed blue: Momoshiki and Urashiki.

Then whose mark lived inside Neji? The notes said Momoshiki and Urashiki moved as allies.

Momoshiki held the White Eye and an array of Samsara Eye powers, with bloodline collection, and wielded the Underworld Pass. Toneri once called him a being of the heavens—Toneri, the same man who would one day reach for Hanabi's eyes.

Hanabi—once in a century, a pure White Eye.

From Kaguya, and from his own study, Kaede knew their habits: they travel in pairs, cross the void, plant Divine Trees, wait for fruit, and carry it home.

Kaguya had betrayed them. Ever since, she had feared their revenge. One day they would come for the fruit, and this world would burn.
