Chapter 167 - Getting back on the journey II

"Ok, so how do we get out of here?" Nerida asked.

Abenibife's eyes clouded, as if she were looking through time itself. She lifted one weathered hand and pointed toward the far horizon, where the desert met the sky.

"The doorway to your world lies that way," she said. "This time, it will open."

Relief stirred among them. After the shaman left the group prepared to leave. They were taking the prisoners to the port city of Dravenmoor with them.

Wanda also assured them the enchanted water will never dry unless she comes back to remove the enchantment herself. The villagers, all humans, were overwhelmed and hailed the strangers as gods, offering relics and gifts to show their gratitude.

Alaric approached cautiously and bowed.

"Forgive me, Your Majesty. I did not know who you truly were."

"No need," Thornak replied. "I am still the same person you met yesterday."

"You are my king," Alaric said, shaking his head. "That is… not quite the same thing."
