As the intense bagwork session finally comes to an end, Donovan gives Shimamura only a brief respite.
"One minute. That's all you get."
Shimamura simply nods, offering no complaints or his usual casual banter. His expression remains focused and cold.
Donovan studies him for a moment before turning toward one of his other athletes.
"Abdul, get the shield."
Abdul immediately retrieves a large padded striking shield and positions himself in front of Shimamura.
"Don't give him room to walk you down," Donovan instructs.
The moment he gives the signal, Abdul presses the shield against Shimamura and steadily drives forward with his body weight.
Shimamura responds with a continuous barrage of short hooks and uppercuts against the padding.
"Harder! You're supposed to stop him, not just keep him busy!"
Abdul keeps advancing, little by little, forcing Shimamura to work harder with every punch while denying him the space to recover or reset his stance.
