Chapter 14 - THE FIRE THAT REMEMBERS

The morning after Memory spoke his name, something in Hinata snapped.

Not like glass.

Like a blade finally drawn out of its tusted sheath.

---

He sat alone beneath a jagged outcropping, staring into the distant horizon where the Nether broke off into obsidian rivers and soulstorms. The brand on his chest burned hotter and hotter each hour, pulsing with

the knowledge of his name.

Hinata. Not chosen. Not erased.Remembered.

Alis approached cautiously, her boots crunching bone-dust beneath her leaving behind a trial of matching footprints behind her with each step.

"You're quiet," she said.

"Not anymore," he replied.

She raised an eyebrow. "That so?"

He turned to her. His eyes were no longer desperate. They were calm.Too calm. They had the kind of intensity you would only expect from an overpowered aura farming nonchalant mainc haracter of an overated anime

"I don't want to run anymore." He said to her in a deep voice maintaining his nonchalant deminer

Alis sat beside him, unsheathing her blade and resting it on her knees.

"You planning to fight the gods now?" she said

He didn't smile. "No. I'm going to break them.I am going to tear their fabricated reality in half and shove it in their faces just before I rip them to shred."

Silence.

Then: "You really think you're the first soul to swear vengeance on the divine?"

"I don't care. I'm going to be the last."

---

That day, they descended deeper into the Nether than either had dared before.

Past the Wailing Hollows.

Past the Bone Choirs.

Into a place even demons whispered about-the Womb of Silence, where forgotten weapons of fallen

gods rotted in time-locked graves.

---

They found it beneath a lake of blood that didn't ripple. Alis carved through the entrance with a whisper of fire. Hinata stepped in, eyes drawn to a sarcophagus bound in rusted chains.

The writing on it was divine.

But wrong.

Corrupted by something older.

"For the one who was never meant to rise."

Hinata placed his hand on the stone.

The chains snapped like threads.

---

Inside lay no corpse.

Only flame.

It surged into him-not heat, but memory. Fury. Entire wars burned behind his eyes. He saw worlds

broken by celestial decree, mortals sentenced to oblivion for daring to question.

And he saw the truth.

The gods did not fear evil.

They feared choice.

Hinata collapsed, gasping, the fire now caged within his soul mark, reshaped into a second ring of runes. Alis stood above him, jaw tight.

"You just bonded with something that was sealed by divinity itself."

He looked up. "Good. Then maybe they'll start running."

He didn't sleep that night.

He didn't dream.

He remembered.

And when he stood at dawn, he whispered the first words of his new creed:

"No mercy for gods who build worlds they abandon."

"No forgiveness for heavens built on silence."

"I am the fire they buried."

"I will burn their thrones to the ground and reduce them to ashes .That I swear!."
