Chapter 221 - 221

The greedy relatives who had received money earlier left the hospital beaming. And once they started bragging, word spread even faster.

Before, many of the shameless relatives hesitated to demand money — partly because Julia's mother had just been injured, and they were afraid of getting blamed.

But once they heard the rumor:

"Those who went first got $60,000 each — no questions asked!"

Their hesitation evaporated instantly.

Greed devoured fear.

Groups of them rushed to the hospital like vultures.

Jason played the part of an easily manipulated "rich fool" perfectly. Anyone who came demanding money got $60,000, no bargaining.

But this time, Jason intentionally kept one man behind.

A man named Glen Mills — one of the loudest instigators during the attack on the Carter family's workshop. He was also one of Robert's suspects for physically pushing Julia's mother.

Jason gestured.

Olivia set a heavy metal cash box on the table.

Jason opened it slowly.

Inside were stacks of crisp bills.

Glen's eyes widened. His breathing quickened instantly. He looked at the money like a starving dog staring at a steak.

Jason spoke in an indifferent tone:

"Tell me who pushed Julia's mother, and this one hundred fifty thousand dollars is yours."

Glen felt his pulse jump. The greed in his eyes only took a second to overpower everything else.

After barely a moment of hesitation, he betrayed everyone.

"It was Henry and Dave Miller," he said quickly. "I saw them shove her myself."

Jason didn't look surprised.

Men without morals never have loyalty.

"You have proof?" Jason asked calmly.

Glen nodded instantly. "Yeah. I filmed it."

Jason raised an eyebrow."Filmed… yourself committing a crime?"

But then he understood.

Cai likely instructed them to create chaos, and recordings made it easier to report "progress."They didn't expect things to escalate to near-murder.

Glen fumbled through his phone and found the video.

He turned the screen toward Jason.

The footage was grotesquely clear:

They first shouted outside the family's workshop, pretending to be righteous crusaders. Anyone without context might have thought they were activists demanding justice.

Then they stormed inside.

Julia's mother tried to block them — crying, pleading.

Two middle-aged men shoved her violently.

She wasn't strong enough. She staggered back.Lost her balance. And fell hard, her head smashing against a sharp corner.

More than one person had been recording. Jason instantly understood why Robert had a list of suspects — there were multiple angles.

Jason exhaled slowly.

Perfect.

Not only did he have evidence — he had overwhelming evidence.

He transferred the video to himself, then closed his phone.

"You can go," Jason said.

Glen stared at the box, still unsure if he heard correctly.

"A-All of this is mine?"

Jason nodded. "Every dollar."

Glen nearly cried from joy. He snapped the box shut and ran like he'd won the lottery.

After that, more and more greedy relatives arrived in waves.

Jason calmly handed out $60,000 per person. Not a cent less.

Even the two main culprits — Henry and Dave Miller — eventually came. They strode in with arrogance, clueless that their crimes were already recorded from three angles.

Jason gave each of them $60,000 without hesitation.

By afternoon, a familiar face arrived.

Jason blinked.

Winston

A fellow student from Pacific Coast University.A scumbag who once extorted Jason. And whose family business was crushed by Jason's lawyers in retaliation.

Winston hadn't dared show himself on campus since.

Now he strutted toward them with the swagger of someone who thought he finally had the upper hand.

"Julia. Jason. Where's my share?" Winston demanded smugly.

He clearly had flown over the moment he heard the news. His tone made it obvious he thought Jason was scared — that Jason was paying money just to resolve trouble.

He actually thought Jason was weak.

Jason slowly turned his gaze toward him.

And a small, cold smile appeared.

Jason looked Winston in the eyes and asked flatly, "What, if I don't give you money, you'll cause trouble too?"

Winston stiffened. The memory of how Jason's legal team crushed his family's factory flashed across his mind. The humiliation, the fear, the begging… all of it.

Anger twisted his face.

"Yes," Winston said coldly. "And I promise I'll make more trouble than any of them."

Jason continued calmly, "And if I give you the sixty thousand, you'll never bother Julia's family again?"

A smug grin spread across Winston's face.

"Of course. I'm a man of my word. You give me the money, we're good. When we meet back on campus, we'll still be classmates… hahahahaha!"

Jason nodded.

Using Julia's bank card, he transferred $60,000 directly.

Winston's grin stretched ear to ear. He strutted away with exaggerated confidence. When he reached the entrance of the hospital, he burst into loud laughter.

He genuinely believed he had "won."

Two days passed.

No more shameless relatives showed up.

Olivia tallied the numbers: about 98% of the households her father had helped over the years had shown up, each walking away with $60,000.

But the remaining 2%… didn't come for money.

They came quietly with small envelopes — a few hundred dollars, maybe a thousand. Hard-earned, wrinkled bills.

They came to visit Julia's parents.

They came because they actually remembered the kindness.

Jason didn't comment. He simply nodded at those families.

Then everything snapped into place.

Olivia returned with the results of her work — the most elite local legal team Savannah could gather, funded by Jason's "no limit on budget" order.

They assembled in a private conference room of the hospital. Anyone familiar with the region's legal scene would have dropped dead seeing this lineup. Their reputations were massive — some had political ties, others were courtroom legends.

Olivia began the briefing.

"Their actions legally constitute extortion. Under Georgia law, repeated or organized extortion attempts fall under felony charges."

She continued:

"Extortion of amounts over $5,000 is a felony with potential prison time.Extorting over $50,000 elevates it to a more severe felony. And extorting over $100,000 can constitute racketeering charges under RICO."

One lawyer added:

"They've harassed the Carter family for years. This time, it escalated into physical injury. That allows us to push for aggravated circumstances, which raises sentencing."

Another attorney stood.

"Now, the violent offenders — Henry and Dave Miller. Pushing an elderly woman, causing a skull fracture, intracranial bleeding… This is Felony Aggravated Battery, punishable by up to twenty years."

"And the victim is considered a vulnerable adult. That increases the penalty further."

He continued:

"Combined with their extortion amount — sixty thousand dollars each — and their years of harassment… they could face twenty-five years or more."

Another attorney rose.

"And the mastermind — 'Cai.'"

He placed documents on the table.

"He financed, organized, and instructed others to commit crimes. Under Georgia law, this makes him an instigator or principal offender in a conspiracy."

"That alone carries three to ten years."

"But since his orders led to severe bodily injury, potentially life-threatening — he is exposed to ten to thirty years."

One by one, the lawyers presented points.

Legal codes.Sentencing guidelines.State precedents.Years of case law.

Piece by piece… they dismantled the entire group of greedy offenders.

If anyone unfamiliar walked into the room, they would think the lawyers were delivering verdicts in a courtroom.

Jason listened quietly.

His face calm.

His intent razor-sharp.

These people had harassed Julia's family for years.

He gave them money.

Buying 20 year with 60,000.

He collected evidence with their full consent.

He let them expose themselves on camera.

Then he assembled a legal firing squad.

And now?

It was time to pull the trigger.
