Amon eventually returned to his dormitory.
And, just as he had expected, he couldn't sleep that night.
He tried. He closed his eyes and lay in bed, hoping exhaustion would eventually take over.
But his mind refused to cooperate. The System's words kept replaying in his head. The mysterious being behind the System. The warning about his second year.
And the mission waiting for him during summer vacation.
"Sigh..."
Amon turned over in bed.
"I can't take this anymore..."
He stared at the ceiling.
"Sigh... what am I supposed to do?"
No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't come to a satisfying decision.
Ignoring the System wasn't an option.
Even if he wanted to stay away from it, the System already knew too much about him—and apparently, the mysterious being behind it was somehow connected to his journey.
Eventually, Amon sighed and closed his eyes.
'I'll just agree to work with them for now and see how things go.'
His expression became slightly more serious.
