Chapter 276 - Volume 2 Chapter 179: It Seems Your Ability Is the Same Type as Mine

Asimi blocked Mohg's blood blade, then swept out a burst of flame that forced him backward.

Hearing Mohg's question, Asimi frowned.

"What do you mean, who am I? I already told you, my name is Asimi."

After hearing that answer, Mohg felt as if his brain was about to hemorrhage—if he even knew what a brain hemorrhage was.

Damn it! Of course I know that's your name!

Is that what I was asking!?

You could at least say you're Lucian's sister!

Asimi looked at Mohg, whose face was twisted with anger yet who said nothing, and asked in return:

"More importantly, who exactly are you?"

"It's strange enough that you're wandering around inside Stormveil Castle in the first place."

Mohg let out a low laugh. His expression darkened until it nearly matched the blackness of his true body.

If he were to speak his title aloud, Asimi would surely be shocked.

He was the mysterious and little-known demigod, beloved son of the Formless Mother, architect of the blood conspiracy, destroyer of the Alliance of Kings, consort of Miquella the Kind, and most importantly of all...

The great Lord of Blood, ruler of the Mohgwyn Dynasty.

Of course, by attacking like this he had already practically exposed his identity.

But just because Asimi asked, did that mean he had to answer?

When dealing with someone like her, the best approach was to use the same method she did.

However, when Asimi saw that Mohg remained silent and only continued attacking, she reached an entirely different conclusion.

In the Lands Between, anyone with a reputation would proudly announce their name, at the very least the name of their family.

"Oh… so you're just an unknown nobody?"

"You're fairly strong. If you're willing to join Stormveil, we could overlook your earlier behavior."

"Of course, you'd need to properly correct your mindset first."

What… a nobody? And she wanted him to join Stormveil?

"Are you insane!?"

Mohg had completely lost it.

From this point onward, he refused to listen to a single word Asimi said.

Right now, the only thing filling his mind was tearing her to pieces.

With both hands, Mohg wielded his twin blood blades and unleashed an elegant, magnificent sword technique—the Dynastic Sword Arts he had created himself.

This technique did not rely on brute strength. Instead, it used calm and graceful precision to gradually shred an opponent apart.

But the sword style that should have been composed and refined now surged like a raging tide.

Faced with the relentless assault, Asimi dismissed the Sword of Night and Flame and instead summoned two new weapons;

Moonveil and Shadow of the Stars.

The paired katanas crossed before her as they clashed repeatedly with Mohg's blades.

Asimi couldn't quite understand Mohg's emotional state.

She hadn't said anything particularly offensive. She had been perfectly polite the entire time.

So why was he so furious?

"I'm perfectly healthy. You're the one acting strangely by getting so angry."

When Mohg's blood blade slashed toward her again, Asimi chose not to block.

Instead, she dismissed the Shadow of the Stars in her left hand and gripped Moonveil with both hands while stepping back.

After precisely avoiding Mohg's attack, Asimi twisted her body in a powerful motion and slashed.

A dazzling arc of blade-light shot outward.

Skill: Transient Moonlight!

Mohg had no time to evade.

The slash struck him, and blood burst from his chest.

However, Asimi looked at the wound with mild surprise.

If this were a normal human, blood would now be pouring out uncontrollably.

Yet—

Although the deep wound had sprayed blood at the moment of impact, no further blood flowed afterward.

Instead, the wound quickly filled and sealed itself.

Mohg pressed forward relentlessly. This time he had brought plenty of cursed blood with him.

Asimi's earlier strike with Moonveil had achieved very little, and Mohg's blood blades soon carved several wounds across her body in return.

Asimi took a deep breath, sheathing her blade before unleashing Transient Moonlight with full power.

A deep-blue crescent of moonlight erupted from the blade and shot toward Mohg.

If it hit, it would certainly deal devastating damage.

Mohg had no intention of taking such an attack head-on. With a nimble sidestep, he evaded it.

After forcing Mohg back with the slash, Asimi widened the distance between them and quickly hurled several sharp stone fragments from her hand.

The moment the stones left her fingers, they became enveloped in black flames.

Incantations were complex things. Even using two incantations from different faith traditions was rare, let alone fusing them together.

Neither Asimi nor Lucian could yet create something like a Black Flame Bestial Sling incantation.

This was merely a technique, applying Black Flame onto a preformed Bestial Sling projectile.

The flame-wreathed stones shot toward Mohg at high speed.

Facing the sharp and numerous fragments, Mohg merely swept his sleeve and scattered them all.

However, the black-and-white flames still clung to his body and began burning.

Mohg paid them no mind and casually extinguished the fire.

The Bestial Sling itself was not very powerful. Its purpose was merely to create an opening during battle.

When Mohg looked again, Asimi had already finished casting Golden Vow upon herself and was preparing to apply another buff.

Naturally, Mohg would not give her that opportunity.

He immediately hurled a blood blade to interrupt her.

However, since distance had been created, Mohg also had something he wanted to do.

Endless cursed blood surged from his body, spreading outward and clinging to the surroundings.

Soon, the entire street where Mohg and Asimi stood was sealed off—transformed into a hellscape of blood.

Seeing the strange blood domain forming around her, Asimi's expression turned serious.

Just by looking at it, she could tell this was no harmless environment.

Returning to his own domain allowed Mohg to relax somewhat, his mood settling slightly.

He took several deep breaths, regaining the elegance and authority he always strove to maintain.

Lowering his hands, Mohg allowed the blood blades to dissolve into the surrounding blood pool.

With his left hand, he straightened his clothing and repaired it.

With his right, he snapped his fingers calmly.

In the next instant, countless blood spikes and blades shot toward Asimi from every direction.

At the same time, the blood beneath her feet clung to her legs, restricting her movement.

The Sword of Night and Flame appeared in Ashmi's hand once more.

A massive torrent of flame surged from the blade, sweeping outward and instantly vaporizing the dense blood blades around her.

After clearing the attacks around her, Asimi poured magic into the ground beneath her feet.

The power spread rapidly outward.

The countless blood restraints were shattered under the force of a Ground Slam, clearing a bloodless space around her.

Once she had secured a clean area, Asimi immediately launched Storm Assault.

Carried forward by the raging wind, she shot toward Mohg.

With a casual wave of his hand, countless blood spikes rose before him to block her path.

Asimi's strike failed to land, and she immediately flipped upward, using the momentum to summon a new pair of weapons—

The Starscourge Greatswords.

Purple gravity magic gathered along the blades.

The already massive swords became even heavier as stones clung to them, crackling with overwhelming gravity-charged lightning.

Gravity Lightning — Cragblade: Twin Lion's Claw!

The countless blood spikes before Mohg were instantly shattered under the overwhelming blow.

However, Mohg had already transformed into cursed blood, merging into the domain itself.

When Asimi looked again, Mohg's figure had reappeared at the opposite end of the street.

With a wave of his hand, countless bloodflies swarmed toward her.

Yet Ashmi merely released a small burst of gravity around herself.

Immediately, the bloodflies were dragged to the ground and exploded one after another.

But Mohg had never expected those bloodflies to threaten someone of her strength.

They were merely a minor supporting tactic.

The real killing move was the bloodflame that ignited beneath Asimi's feet.

Asimi summoned a storm, intending to blow the bloodflame away.

But the wind instead lifted the blood itself, wrapping the flames around her body.

A satisfied smile appeared on Mohg's face.

Back then, Lucian had used some mysterious technique to rapidly regenerate his body, preventing Mohg's bloodflame from burning him to death.

Would this woman, who was likely Lucian's sister, possess the same secret technique?

If she did, then let her use it!

Mohg intended to defeat the very move that had once caused his failure.

Just as Mohg prepared to watch Asimi be consumed by the bloodflame, he suddenly noticed something strange.

The blood touching Asimi's body… had stopped burning.

Asimi dismissed the storm that had been feeding the flames, then casually brushed her body.

The useless bloodflame fell away from her like dust.

Mohg stared at her in disbelief.

Bloodflame was his signature technique. Once it touched an enemy's blood, it burned them from the inside out until they became charred corpses.

But just now, he had felt no spread of the bloodflame at all.

That was impossible.

Even someone with extremely high fire resistance would still show some reaction or damage.

Unless…

Asimi's body didn't contain blood at all.

Mohg did not attack again immediately.

Instead, he concealed himself within the blood and began thinking.

Earlier, the power inside Asimi had given him a familiar sensation, something resembling the mysterious forces from beneath the earth.

He frowned.

This woman was definitely not Lucian's sister.

She seemed more like something from the nearby Eternal City, the beings known as Mimic Tears.

Asimi merely resembled Lucian in appearance and possessed some of Lucian's techniques.

As Mohg thought about the variety of abilities Asimi had displayed, he continued launching occasional blood attacks to harass her.

Which meant…

This might actually be the perfect opportunity to learn what kinds of abilities Lucian now possessed.

Thinking back on the techniques Asimi had used earlier, Mohg felt a trace of shock.

Storm techniques. Gravity sorcery. Ground slams. Black Flame…

What other powers would appear next?

The last time he fought Lucian, Lucian had only known some storm-based techniques and swordsmanship.

Back then, Lucian had been utterly miserable inside Mohg's blood domain.

But once the variety of abilities increased…

These attacks could suddenly be handled with such ease?

"Don't daydream in the middle of a fight."

"I may not understand many things, but when it comes to combat, I'm still fairly competent."

Hearing Asimi's voice, Mohg looked up.

Only to see a massive dragon head manifest behind her.

The roaring dragonfire of Agheel was already sweeping across his blood domain.

Asimi stomped her right foot onto the ground.

Frost spread rapidly outward from beneath her feet. Hoarfrost Stomp proved extremely effective against the blood covering the ground.

Mohg had no idea how Asimi had managed it, but somehow she had locked onto his position.

As the ice spread, moving through the blood became difficult. Mohg had no choice but to reveal himself in order to defend against the incoming attack.

Asimi transformed into a flash of lightning and instantly appeared behind Mohg. In her hand, a crimson Dragonbolt gathered and condensed into the shape of a spear, which she thrust toward him.

Mohg spun gracefully, elegantly avoiding the strike. At the same time, a slender rapier formed in his hand as he turned to counterattack, aiming a precise thrust at Asimi.

However, when Asimi's strike missed, she immediately drove the unused Dragonbolt spear into the ground.

In an instant, dense crimson dragon lightning crawled wildly across the ground, forming a curtain of crackling energy. Mohg had no choice but to abandon his attack.

But Asimi's next strike was already on its way.

A massive deep-blue comet had quietly gathered behind the cover of the lightning curtain. When it finished charging, an overwhelming surge of sorcery erupted forward and shot straight toward Mohg.

The Comet Azur–like torrent unleashed through the Sword of Night and Flame possessed terrifying speed and destructive power. Mohg was caught completely off guard.

As he twisted sideways to evade it, a large portion of his body was obliterated—nearly half of his torso was shaved away.

This avatar had no internal organs, and Mohg tightly controlled the blood within it. As a result, the areas struck by the comet were cut so cleanly that the wounds were as smooth as polished mirrors.

Mohg felt lingering fear as he hurriedly used cursed blood to reconstruct the destroyed portions of his body.

Looking back, he saw that the comet had also pierced through the blood domain itself.

A massive hole had been blasted through the crimson field, revealing the outside world beyond.

Mohg's expression darkened as he directed the blood to spread and repair the damaged domain.

Asimi stepped out from the fading dragon lightning, the Sword of Night and Flame held firmly in her hand.

Earlier, she had deliberately chosen the direction of her attack so that the comet would vanish into the sky, ensuring that none of Stormveil's buildings were damaged.

Raising the sword with one hand, Asimi pointed it at Mohg.

"Judging from those tricks you used just now, you're probably not a very good person."

"Sorry about that. But to protect Stormveil, I'm going to destroy you completely right here."

Mohg let out a cold laugh.

"Kill me? You?"

"I cannot be killed."

The one standing here now was merely an avatar.

And this avatar could continuously regenerate using cursed blood. If the fight dragged on, Mohg honestly didn't see how he could possibly lose.

When these people eventually faced his true body, they would realize just how ridiculous their earlier confidence had been.

Asimi nodded thoughtfully.

"I see. That explains why you're acting so boldly."

"But I can't be killed either."

"So you're the same type as me."

"I thought this was some kind of rare ability. Turns out even random people on the street have it? Sigh…"

Asimi wasn't exaggerating.

After all, her core remained inside Lucian's body.

As long as that core remained unharmed, even if this outer body was destroyed, she could simply recover after some time.

Hearing her words, the veins on Mohg's forehead began to throb again.

'Calm down…'

Elegance, composure, and poise were his true weapons.

Mohg extended his hand in a grasping motion.

A massive weapon appeared within it, the Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear.

Although it was merely a weapon formed from blood rather than the true artifact, it was still one of the weapons Mohg wielded best.

"Then let's see… which of us can kill the other."

Even though he spoke fiercely, Mohg did not recklessly rush forward to fight Asimi head-on.

Instead, he used the reach advantage of the Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, launching continuous harassment attacks from a distance.

This avatar had already been exposed. Its destruction was only a matter of time.

During that time, Mohg intended to squeeze every bit of value out of this body.

If he could gather more intelligence from Asimi, then he would come out ahead.

From what he had seen so far, the range of abilities Asimi possessed was truly outrageous.

Storm techniques. Ice and frost. Lightning. Glintstone sorcery. Gravity magic. Golden Order incantations. Dragon Communion incantations. Black Flame…

And since Asimi could use these abilities, then Lucian definitely could as well, probably at an even higher level.

How had he managed to learn and master so many things, many of which contradicted each other in nature?

It was absurd.

But what shocked Mohg the most was Asimi's physical strength.

It was monstrously high, purely overwhelming stats.

On top of that, her body seemed almost completely unaffected by cursed blood and bloodflame, forcing Mohg to rely solely on his personal skill and power.

The worst part was that Asimi could match him even in those areas, and occasionally she would casually add another incantation buff to herself.

Mohg gritted his teeth and began thinking about how to break this stalemate.

Whether this avatar survived or not didn't really matter.

As long as he wished, he could always create another.

But since he had already been exposed, he had to accomplish something with it.

Otherwise, next time he might not get such a convenient opportunity.

Stormveil, once alerted, would not be so easy to infiltrate again.

Lucian was probably somewhere within Stormveil right now. If he wasn't occupied with something important, he would definitely intervene.

Guards were stationed everywhere throughout the castle. It wouldn't take long for news of this fight to reach Lucian's ears.

Since that was the case…

Mohg decided to use this avatar to draw their attention, allowing the Bloody Fingers and Sanguine Nobles he had already hidden within the city to begin their operations.

Tonight...

He would make Stormveil Castle run with blood filled with pain and despair.
