The next morning, the sun rose over the slave camp.
Just like every other day, the sound of chains and whips filled the air.
The slaves lined up without saying a word.
Eric stood at the back with his head lowered.
His mind could not forget the mysterious girl he had seen the night before.
Her words echoed inside him.
"You were born with power."
"You were born with purpose."
Eric shook his head.
"It must have been a dream," he whispered.
The slaves were ordered to carry huge blocks of stone up a steep hill.
Many of them struggled.
Some fell from exhaustion.
The guards showed no mercy.
They beat anyone who slowed down.
Eric quietly picked up his stone and began to climb.
Halfway up the hill, a little boy no older than eight years old collapsed.
His body was too weak.
The stone rolled away from him.
A guard walked over with an angry face.
"You useless child!"
He raised his whip.
The little boy closed his eyes.
The other slaves lowered their heads.
No one dared to interfere.
Suddenly...
A hand caught the whip.
The guard froze.
Every slave looked up.
Eric was standing there.
For the first time in his life...
He had stopped a guard.
The camp became completely silent.
The guard looked at Eric with disbelief.
"You dare touch me?"
Eric said nothing.
His eyes remained fixed on the whip in his hand.
The guard became furious.
He pulled out his sword and swung it at Eric.
The slaves screamed.
But before the blade could touch him...
It shattered into hundreds of tiny pieces.
Clang!
The broken metal fell onto the ground.
The guard stepped back in fear.
"What..."
"What are you?"
Eric stared at his own hand.
He had done nothing.
He did not even understand what had happened.
The other guards rushed toward him.
"There!"
"Capture him!"
More than twenty armed guards surrounded the young boy.
Eric slowly looked around.
His heart was beating fast.
He was afraid.
Very afraid.
Then the mysterious girl's voice echoed inside his mind once again.
"Weak people have ruled over you long enough."
"Stand."
Eric slowly straightened his back.
For the first time since he was born...
He stood proudly.
The moment he did...
The entire ground began to shake.
The sky darkened.
A strange pressure filled the slave camp.
The guards could no longer move.
Their knees hit the ground one after another.
Some began to cry.
Others struggled to breathe.
The slaves looked around in shock.
They had no idea what was happening.
Eric himself looked frightened.
"I..."
"I didn't do anything."
Tears formed in his eyes.
He never wanted to hurt anyone.
He only wanted the little boy to be safe.
High above the clouds...
Far beyond the sight of mortals...
The mysterious winged girl opened her eyes.
A gentle smile appeared on her face.
"So..."
"It has finally begun."
She spread her white and silver wings and looked down at the world.
"The time has come for the creator to awaken."
Below her, Eric stood in the middle of the camp.
Around him, the air shimmered with an invisible force that no one could understand.
And in the deepest part of his soul...
A sealed power had opened ever so slightly.
The world had not noticed it.
But destiny had.
