She slashes her scythe at him, creating a deep cut on his chest down to his abdomen. Kohlrabi fires an energy beam at her but the energy disappears, the scythe has absorbed the energy beam.
Elesia's green eyes glow. The scythe fires the yellow energy back at Kohlrabi but he uses his forearm coated in iron against the energy beam.
"That was strong." Kohlrabi lowered his hand. Smoke is coming out of the iron plate on his forearm.
Kohlrabi turns around, and swings his hand, catching an incoming spear whose blade is covered in green energy.
"I see."
Kohlrabi connects his eyes to the eyes of the other monsters, seeing them getting burned, some facing bears and giants made of ink, and some getting destroyed by punches
"You think that you can defeat me? All by yourself?"
The wind caresses Elesia's exposed skin, and she inhales through her nose. She closes her hands on both weapons and green energy comes crawling over her form.
"It doesn't matter to me! What matters is that I am standing in front of you!" Elesia's cloak of green energy split into five copies of her, carrying the same weapon.
Elesia narrows her eyes at him. "My sister wants to pass her legacy down to me.
"But I rejected it and even hated her for having that role, almost cursing her for having it. I only wanted her to live but I only thought of myself without thinking of what she feels!"
Along with her clones, she spins both her scythe and spear. "I was a selfish brat! But I want to make things right. For that, I will accept being a guardian!"
Elesia flies toward Kohlrabi with her five clones, carrying both the spear and scythe.
Kohlrabi's eyes, which are a mix of yellow and green, start to glow until they release lasers.
The two clones use spears, absorbing the lasers as Elesia flies past them. Kohlrabi avoids Eleia and clenches his hand before punching her but a clone from behind holds Kohlrabi's fist in place.
The other clone comes forth and kicks Kohlrabi's face. Elesia swings her scythe swiftly, cutting both of Kohlrabi's arms.
Elesia aims her hand at his chest and blasts him away after releasing an energy beam from her palm.
Kohlrabi remains levitating, and he flies away from her as his wooden arms become long; regenerating a new pair of hands.
Elesia speaks in her mind. "I didn't know how he fought when I first faced him, and I lost because of underestimating him; not making a tactic."
"But right now," Elesia's green eyes start to glimmer, "I have the advantage here."
The rest of the clones fly toward Kohlrabi but a gigantic wooden hand slaps them away except for Elesia.
Two gigantic wooden golems are standing at both Kohlrabi's sides. Elesia hovers her hand on top of her scythe, covering it in her energy.
Kohlrabi nods, and the two gigantic golems run toward her with their fist raised, ready to punch her.
"Shit! I can't do this alone! I need to recharge," Elesia said in her mind, her eyes narrowing.
The other protectors are busy defending the other cities from the wooden armies of golems, giants, and humanoid warriors.
Back at the battle, Elesia flies from side to side to avoid the incoming punches. Kohlrabi appears in front of her eyes in an instant as he coats his fingers in iron.
Elesia narrows her eyes, and she swings her scythe towards him but it took one iron finger of Kohlrabi to stop the blade from hitting him.
The blade of the scythe still cuts through his fingers even if they are coated in iron.
"This brat!" Kohlrabi suddenly turned serious.
Kohlrabi holds the body of her spear. The two gigantic golems are now slamming their palms toward Elesia.
"I can't let go of this spear!" Elesia gritted her teeth, still holding onto the spear.
Kohlrabi smiles. "People like you have this trait that values their possessions. What do you call them? That's right 'sentimental persons'."
The hands of the golem have hit both of them but from the nape of one of the golems, Kohlrabi emerges with his eyes staring at the gigantic wooden palms of the golems that crushed Elesia.
The hands fall apart, Elesia remains levitating, and she flies toward Kohlrabi with both scythe and spear in her hands.
She combines both weapons; the blade of the spear is on top of the scythe. She swings her scythe at Kohlrabi as she summons five clones of her.
A vision of Clara talking to her appears in her mind. Those memories took part when Clara was training her.
"Big sis! Why are you so determined to teach me? It's getting boring!"
Clara laughs. "Because I can see that you would be a greater weapon user than me."
"Pft! Stop lying with those words!"
"I'm not lying, Elesia! You truly can surpass me." Clara smiled.
In the present, Elesia combines the two weapons as one; the pointed blade of the spear is near the curved blade of the scythe, and unknown words are carved on the body of the weapon.
Kohlrabi holds the axe with his hand covered in iron and green energy.
"I won't let you live!"
Kohlrabi's energy suddenly changes into the color of green-yellow. His eyes shine brighter as Elesia keeps pushing her spear.
The blade pierces through the iron as the cracking sound of iron can be heard, and cracks manifest before it breaks apart.
Elesia begins to cough. Kohlrabi's eyes widen but they return to their original state. He looks calmly at the blade of the spear-pausing, not even touching his neck.
Blood is falling from the corner of Elesia's lip. She's panting, and sweat is falling rapidly from her head down to her chin.
Kohlrabi raises his hand at Elesia's eyes. She narrows her eyes but her spear falls from her grasp.
"Combining two weapons is not that easy. My energy has been depleted badly. I am not powerful like her."
Elesia's green eyes lose their brightness as they disappear, bringing back the brown color of her eyes.
Gathering all of her energy, she looks up at the sky. From her left eye, she fires a green energy sphere. The ball explodes upon reaching the sky, and suddenly, green words marked on Kohlrabi's body are shining.
"The fuck is this?" Kohlrabi wondered.
His eyes widen, and he looks at Elesia. He clenches his fists and flies toward her but multiple explosions occur on his entire body.
"Before I get destroyed completely! I must offer my body as his vessel!"
Within the explosions, Kohlrabi's body is getting destroyed by the explosions. Using his other hand, he punches his chest, tearing into his wooden flesh.
"It's time, my lord!" he yelled.
Suddenly, all the wooden monsters all over Metro Manila stop moving, and they all begin to fall to their knees. The protectors: Nash, Ivan, and Felicia are astounded at the sight of the monsters that they once were fighting, now frozen while kneeling.
"These monsters!" Ivan said.
"I wonder what they are doing?" Nash hummed.
"Smells fishy to me!" Felicia cracked her knuckles.
The smoke slowly disappears. A humanoid entity is floating where the smoke disappeared. He's half-naked with oversized dark green pants made from leaves covering his lower body.
His body is muscular and he seems to be a heavyweight
His eyes are emerald, his body is made of wood with some specks of iron on his shoulders down to his fingers; tiny round silver covering each of his knuckles.
His hair is green and pointy as it moves like a wave with the aid of the emerald aura covering his entire body.
Before Elesia can speak, the humanoid has reached her side. No smile or any hint of any emotions can be seen on his face.
"You are that worthless woman who's giving my Kohlrabi a hard time?"
He suddenly slaps her with his massive left hand, launching her into the frozen bodies of his wooden creation.
Elesia coughs. She tries to stand up but the humanoid lands on her body with his foot on her abdomen.
She coughs blood from her mouth. "He's really fast! I didn't see him coming!"
The humanoid grabs her neck but a huge blast of wind launches him away.
He remains standing while being pushed away by the blast of energy, and the clone vanishes. He moves his neck from side to side.
Elesia looks down and grabs her scythe. She inhales deeply. "I won't use my powers but that does not mean that I can't fight."
"Using only a weapon is an abomination. Use your powers, moron."
The entity disappears and appears in front of her. Elesia swings her scythe but the entity just takes a step backward before grabbing the blade of the scythe.
He breaks the blade from the long steel body of the weapon with just one bend of the blade. Elesia's eyes widen at the sight but before she can make a move, the entity grabs her face.
The entity slams her on the ground with such force that causes cracks and a small crater to form on the ground beneath Elesia.
He lifts her high above his head before letting go of her.
He clenches his hand and punches her with his large wooden hand, the impact of the punch sends Elesia crashing against another row of immobilized wooden monsters.
Before she can crash further, a hand grabs the back of her shirt. That man is no other than Ash, and he gently puts her on the ground.
"And who are you?" the entity asked without showing any emotions.
"I am Ash, a protector." Ash stared at him with such intensity.
Multiple wooden spikes emerge from the ground all over the battlefield.
Ash generates a massive wave of bright flames, burning all the incoming spikes.
The flaming wave is reaching the entity but he nullifies the flames with a barrier of bright green energy.
"A low being standing against a higher being? Let's see what you can do," the entity's muscles are increasing, shown by the growth of his body, "entertain me."
Ash twirls his spear, and he looks over his shoulder. "I'm sorry I'm late."
Elesia remains unconscious while lying down on the ground. Ash's clothes begin to disappear as flames are erasing them, revealing a black coat with a red shirt beneath, dark pants, and a pair of dark shoes.
A scarlet fireball appears in front of his right scarlet eyes as his left eye is shining a bit brighter.
