Truth was, most of the palace had mages crawling around and knights too. There was no way the three of them had just easily killed their way through.
"You won't be living long enough for that to matter" The assassin spoke back.
"I see" Oberon said, then gently removed his crown and set it on the throne. Then he rolled his shoulders and adjusted his stance.
"It looks like you fools weren't properly informed about who you're dealing with."
Oberon had this bluish-white glow of light on his eyes, with electricity dancing through them. Blue-white arcs of Lightning also crackled across his body.
The first assassin lunged from his right side, aiming to drive one of his daggers into the King.
But then Oberon vanished, reappearing behind him, with his lightning-wreathed fist already in motion.
The strike connected with his spine, sending him crashing through a stone pillar.
The second assassin from the left, melted into shadows and disappeared.
